First Mod

Well they took their time to arrive but these arrived today. Fantastic quality and so much nicer than the crappy stock plastic things in the car now!

Will install tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing this. Debating getting some myself, love the look of these. But the cost is too much.

Curious, why did you swap? Plastic for plastic, I'm assuming it wasn't solely for esthetics. I too decided to change them and was wondering about your motivation. Mine was simply practical.

I personally think it’s a waste of money changing them. I had them on my M4 as I tracked it and needed the extra length at times, but in an X3.... just doesn’t make sense to me unless you just like the look over stock or you drive with your hands in the wrong place

I can't reach the factory paddle shifters in my X3MC with my hands at 10 and 2. 9 and 3? yes, but that's the wrong grip. I'm hoping the extended carbon paddles will allow me to maintain the proper stance.

I changed the crappy stock ones in my 440i for the F80 paddles and preferred the feel. Similarly in the X3M I think the stock paddles feel cheap and a bit pathetic so wanted some paddles with more 'feel'.

This. Plastic makes the car feel cheap if you drive with paddles all of the time - which i do.

Please post a install set of pics or i hate you. you've been warned.

I think a set of the F80 paddles would look nice if they fitted not sure if they will though.

They don't fit.

The mechanism is connected to the F80 paddles and you can't (as far as I can see) disconnect from the steering wheel.

Pity as I like'd them on my others and I don't like that "TIE" fighter look of the larger ones.

They should fit as they have the same mechanism but not sure the backing will blend with steering wheel.
