Are the G80 M3 CF shift paddles true plug & play... ?

Just like the title says, are the sick OEM BMW carbon fiber shift paddles from the G80 M3 compatible on both the pre & post LCI X3 MC's... ?

All we can say is, just do it! Easy to install (plug and play) and makes it so much better!

I've got a set of the G8X paddles on the way for my pre LCI, and as far as I can tell, they should be plug and play.

Managed to grab an OEM set off eBay for £250/$320 so they were an absolute steal as well

I was going to make one for the paddles and trim piece. It's pretty freight forward, if you need any help. I can guide you and just shoot me a pm.

I assume it's the same for all other paddles. Disconnect main battery terminals, wait 5 minutes to ensure airbag is not in stand by mode, remove air bag, remove steering wheel, remove old units & replace with new units. The reassemble everything in the reverse order.

I just did the g8x CF paddles and M-Perf CF trim. Came out great, this is how these cars should come from the factory IMO.

I was trying to take pics but got in a hurry. The first steps of disconnecting the battery, let the car drain, and removing the airbag, is the same process as this video:

I needed a T60 torx, not a 16mm socket, to get the steering wheel off. Harbor freight should have a 1/2" socket set that includes this bit. Once you get the wheel off its pretty straightforward, now that I've done the swap once I could do another in less than an hour, maybe 30 minutes. Very easy mod.

I'm loving mine.

And there's no need to take the steering wheel off at all. Just unplug the negative terminal battery, remove airbag, remove each screw that holds the paddles in place, unplug, remove, and replace. simple. I've done both the paddles and trim with the steering wheel in place.

Don't suppose you have the PN for the paddles and CF trim reasonably handy?

FYI - I believe the trim piece is a different part number if you have a heated steering wheel and do NOT have DAP. Danniexi passed along this part number 32-30-2-459-671 for that setup but I haven't ordered it yet.
