Did you ever figure out if this was retrofittable? I never went into E-sys to see if it was client side activatable.

The factory wireless charger can be retrofitted but it’s not plug and play or a trivial retrofit. Also note that the factory wireless charger is a VERY slow charger.

I was hoping to retro the digital key, I hate the size of the current fob, its 2022 we dont need them anymore.

as per the other thread, unless we can somehow get BMW to activate digital key by updating the ConnectedDrive App and the vehicle (OTA Update), I think it's a no go.

I honestly don't think it'll be THAT difficult.... change out the door handle, change out the cup holders, install the NFC pad, and send out both the OTA update and ConnectedDrive App to those who want to upgrade. The hardware and capability is there, it all comes down to time invested on their end.

Yes. They provided me with 2 regular keys and the digital key card.

you must be new. digital key hardware was removed and it was coded out and deleted on all G01/F97 LCI cars for a while. looks like it just made its appearance on the most recent builds.

no, it’s been out for a while with the introduction of iDrive 7. it’s been standard on the entire BMW lineup for a while, and with the introduction of the LCI it was widely assumed that it would show up on the X3 and X4. it just so happened that it was deleted from the build because “chip shortages”, but it now seems as if it has finally made its debut on this platform.

tl;dr new for the X3/X4, old news for all other BMW owners.

Yes, I've set mine up. It should be one of scrolling widgets at the bottom of the app. Need both keys and doesn't take long.

I know that those two were related, i confirmed that cars produced after 4/2022 got the Wireless chargers back but was unable to confirm digital key.
