Based on my personal opinion, I can't say that the MSS is making the suspension softer.
It is still firm, just not as stiff as stock.
It has different characteristics than H&R or stock spring where they are progressive spring.

Progressive spring consists of 2 or more spring rate in one spring.
Usually there are tightly wound coils then loosely wound coils.
The tightly wound coils is soft spring rate and vice versa.
Usually, the transition from soft rate to high rate is what causing the stiff ride feeling.

While MSS is using linear spring, where every mm of compression are the same rate.
Therefore, it transfer the weight and/or impact equally. No sudden jolt since there is no spring rate transition.

I hope that make sense.

2nd that. I like Eibach and used them in the past on other cars. Lets see how they work on the F97.

The MSS is a really nice setup, get these cars looking perfectly low with better ride quality compared to stock.

I am lowered on H&R springs, yes, they are firm, similar to stock in sportplus, but def wouldnt say worse than stock. MSS is known for better spring rate and being more comfortable, while still feeling sporty.

RGSport is more knowledgeable than i am on this topic. i would def read up on his posts and threads about the MSS suspension.

if you want to see how the H&R looks check out my IG page @Jumper_f97

If you get MSS and lower it all the way, or close to it, your ride isnt going to be all that better, so everyone should keep that in mind.

H&R in my opion, gets low enough. if you lower the MSS to about 1.25" you run into bump stop issues etc and your ride quality is same as H&R/Stock.

if you want to see how the H&R looks check out my IG page @Jumper_f97
I think I'm already following you on IG. You have the 2021 X3 MC right?

MSS also gets rid of some of the twitchiness in the steering.

I'm assuming that's simply because of the softer / less aggressive spring rates?

Here's what not to do when removing and installing struts. Former shop reinstalled my OEM springs after running into a dead end with the Dinan option. Tech at former shop stripped the tread and used a non OEM nut and never bothered to bring it to my attention🤦*♂️ What was suppose to be a one day install has turned into chasing down a front passenger strut which is on national backorder. New shop has been great to work with and helped me get the old shop to pay for a replacement.

Shops that cut corners are the ones you don't want to return to. Don't give them anymore of your business. Sometimes you stumble upon much better techs & shops this way. Sorry they did what they did.

Curious if anyone here tows at all on aftermarket suspension?

Would love a slight drop on my f97 but I still need to tow the boat and don't want to negatively impact the handling when loaded.

I used to tow with my old F97 before I got my M5 Comp and has no issues fully lowered on the MSS Suspension.

Talked myself in and out of MSS a couple times. Ultimately decided it was probably the right choice even if somewhat overpriced.

the way i view it is you pay for what you get

i know thats a general statement as some companies can overprice things bc of name brand and reputation

generally speaking typically have a better product

we only make a purchasing decision when the value exceeds the price so thats different for everybody

id take the mss over the hr everyday imo

I fully understand the MSS kit is regarded as a great solution & a high quality kit. No argument there. But if the springs are a touch softer & make the X3 M a little less dynamic in terms of robust handling, I may hold off on it. Just my .02 cents.

MSS spring has been great in my 2021 X3MC. I was very much into H&R route due to the cost. But I decided to go with MSS because a lot of real user voice and advice from Ben at RG Sport. Most importantly, MSS support is awesome. They take care any concern or issue and treat the custom first.

I couldn't be happy enough with the setup over 4 months now. Highly recommend if you're still thinking. You get what you paid!

OT a bit. Who is installing the springs for those that purchased them? Are you able to do this yourself? Or is it a big installation expense from a shop for a BMW tax?

Check out my DIY thread. It's possible to DIY if you have a certain experience level.
