So thought I would check mine out and the info is 18-3. I downloaded the new version which took forever and then on to a USB, checking to the instructions it say that the region will update automatically 4 times a year. Does anyone know when the this is done? has that update for the UK is all I need. I then looked at how to manually update and it say it can take several hours which I can believe.

Anyone noticed that the Update Manager tell you that you have to use an FAT32 formatted USB but in fact will accept an NTFS formatted USB. The only format it doesn't seem to support is exFAT which is annoying as I use that for all my removable disks.

I'm guessing that ConnectedDrive website knows your iStep level, and that from a certain software level it defaults to OTA updates instead of USB. When in Europe. Like in how it has been working in NA for a while.

'I’ve put the update manager on my google drive for you guys to try, it might work and if not at least you’ve got it pre installed to use when BMW sort it out.

No I meant that if the car software level is high enough, not talking about map level, the maybe the OTA functionality is also enabled for European vehicles, like it is in NA. And of OTA is available, it seems like there is no support for USB upgrades anymore, ie the car is grayed out in BMW download manager.

I see, so they haven’t activated your cars map subscription. Have you tried doing live chat with a ‘Genius’? My remote 3D view wouldn’t work when i first got my X3 and the genius sorted it out with connecteddrive tech support for me.
