X3M Competition looks nice in classic Alpine White w/Blacked-out trim.

X3M Competition looks nice in classic Alpine White with Blacked-out trim.

WTFs up with the Silver Roof Rails ? Just Delete them and get a proper Thule Roof Rack.

The X3M C badging is getting ridiculously busy, it looks like a cheep sticker. Does it really need to read "Competition" underneath?

X4 for me!

I was there as well and saw the X3M too. I was in such awe with it's presence and look that I didn't even stop and glance at the new Z4. Then again, I've been waiting for the X3M for a couple of years. The "in person" look is absolutely amazing. The vehicle is very aggressive looking and the interior is absolutely gorgeous. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one and go for a drive. That being said, the rep there did hand me the keys and let me start it up. It has a fantastic sound at startup, but it does sound similar to the S55 in the current M3. Lastly, the roof rails will be either black or silver, as has always been an option on all X3s (I'm in my 2nd X3 now, both have had black, silver is usually the "option" so it's most likely what you'll see on the press vehicles), and as mentioned, I don't like the badging either, but I've never liked black badges at all... However, easy fix.

For those unsure, trust me, you'll be impressed when you get to see it firsthand.

Let me also state, I am by no means a photographer, only snapped these quick pics to show the wife... Again, pictures don't do it justice.

I'm probably the minority, but I've always liked the way some of the standard wheels looked on M cars compared to their optional larger siblings. I like a little more sidewall to give that meaty-track-car look rather than rubber bands.

I've also never been a fan of Black wheels and black accents. Personal preferences, but I'd prefer X3M looks with competition horsepower and a Carbon roof.

They can't make up their mind! Stuck them up high on the X7 too and I was thinking they moved them down low on X3 mid-cycle to match all the incoming new X5s and X7s.

It looks better up high to me - I didn't like the lower placement. Hope they keep it where it is on the X3M.

Now the badge content, on the other hand, needs to be reduced.

I believe that comment has primarily been directed at the seats - which might be a consideration for someone looking to order the car and that color interior.

Are the seats objectively dirty? If so, then the comment is fair IMO...

Completely agree. Same spot my wife's badge is located. Still don't understand why they changed it.

I've got the first one reserved at my dealership ... badging is coming off like I did with my Cayenne.
Going with D Gray but haven't decided on interior color yet. Some contrast would be nice but not sure of my interior color choices as I'm going with a competition model with no badges!

Congrats. Donington Gray looks fantastic. Don't think you can go wrong on the interior color.

Make sure you take delivery at Performance Center!

My only complaint is the quad exhaust is barely even noticeable, rear looks too much like a normal x3, but i love everything else! Can't wait to see in person!

Putting the ///M in Soccer ///Mom!!! (Totally kidding, kind of)

I had a week with the G01 xDrive 30i and I have never driven a large car that handles corners like the X3 does. The entire time I thought to myself, this car is perfect for ///M. The stability in DSC and the traction in DTC is otherworldly. It's the Corner Carving Machine and with upgraded chassis it'll be even nastier around bends.

Oh, and look at the beautiful paint in between the grilles!!!

Thanks for sharing and glad to hear it was much more impressive in person. Your pics definitely make it look a little more special than the previous pics as the body lines really stand out more in that light.

As for badging, I'm going to debadge and maybe replace with just an ///M badge in chrome similar to my 1M (not a fan of black badging). There's too much going on back there.

I have a funny thing with badges, I always order and replace with custom color matched badges... For instance, here's a couple pics of my cars.

Thank you! Those aren't even good pics, but I do like them. A subtle touch, but looks really good when done.
