See, I think the wheels look really nice - this isn't the best angle to look at them, but when they're clean and you can see them from the side, they look great IMO.

that can be said about MANY M wheels over the years. i don't see many people rocking the stock 18' or even 19' (excluding comp wheels) wheels on their cars.

having said that these wheels look nice and fit the car.

The word "competition" should never be used in reference to an SUV of any kind. PERIOD. Can't believe they chose to use it that way. Absolutely ridiculous. Can't wait for the X7M Competition.

I think it looks really good, however, I'll more than likely stick to my M40i for money reasons alone. Regardless, I'm excited to see this getting released and to see them on the road in the future. Hopefully next gen I'll be able to pick up an X3M.

Visually underwhelming. I'm not doubting the performance but overall design is a let down for me. Front bumper is almost too aggressive and the rear fails to balance this. Neither elegant nor aggressive. Also, when will car makers stop increasing the wheel size? 21 inch rim on a m car?

I was tired of waiting, so I bought an X3 M40i last year and have been very pleased with it as a daily driver... I also have an M4 ZCP, so I'm probably not going to rush out and buy an X3M now... The fact that BMW has done a such fine job of diluting the true M cars to make the M40i, 340i, 440i and 550i, etc hasn't helped the M brand.... if all you have to do is slap a $800 tune on one of those cars and you're only inches from an actual M that cost $$$$$ more? Why bother!

Way to go BMW!

(Disclamer - Maybe I'm just pissed that it took BMW so long to bring this vehicle to market. IMO We should have had an X3M in the last generation X3).

They look the same as the stock 21" on the M40i ...except in black?

Imho it doesn't differ enough from a regular X3 m sport to be a real M model. Like others said, i don't doubt that the performance will be there but as far as visual goes, I'm not convinced

Cars keep getting bigger, so....natural for the wheels to be larger as well I think.

I am pretty sure the 992 911 has 21s all around, so the diameter size can't affect performance too much (at least, you wouldn't think so, but who knows).

I do wish the back end, especially the wheel arches, were more aggressive - the front is growing on me though.

Yeah the extra 150 HP from real M S58 engine, new exhaust, new M xDrive with M diff, new suspension, new brakes, new wheels, new interior, better paint options, new exterior tweaks... Not much to differentiate it.

It's a lot more than inches when you're not just worried about straight line acceleration. I wouldn't trust to push an M40i with an $800 tune on a track anywhere near the same as a full M...

Although, I wouldn't push a vert the same either...
