Really? - have you seen the NA sales numbers for the past month? Year? - they don't sell as well as BMW had hoped. The company needs to adjust its strategy or else it will go bye bye. Crossovers = mediocrity. Thats what BMW is specializing in lately.

X5 and X6 are in very high demand in other markets to the point that allocation is an issue. Dealers are being encouraged to take steps to ensure that those models are not being bought for export. One dealer was insisting that non-finance deals have a token loan attached so that a lien could be placed on the vehicle to dissuade export. I am more concerned about BMW's 3 and 4 series numbers. I admit that I like the technology in the F30 line, but the finishes are not luxury finishes. If I were in the market for another small sedan or coupe I would be looking at the C-class. My E92 M3 is far more luxurious than any current F30. I think that BMW has got the message, the G01 has a better feel than its predecessor. November numbers are going to be very interesting. |

Yep, even Consumer Reports says that the X1 lacks the "refinement" one expects in a BMW. I like the size, but the interior noise is a deal breaker for me. Hope the LCI improves this issue.

I had an x1 in 2014 and 2016. I actually really liked my 2016. I traded a 3 series for it. It was quieter than my 3 series on the freeway and in my opinion had a nicer finished interior. It was a great vehicle. I will say the suspension was not as refined as my new x3 but overall it was a great vehicle.

The F series started in 2008 and may continue until the end of the current model runs of the (X1, X2 and M2)... possibly 2020? So only a 12 year run for the F series? Quote:

Although I prefer the front end (especially the headlights and lower, bigger air inlets) of the LCI F25, the G01 scores big wins with its awesome B58 engine, interior, technology and updated taillights.. |

Well it’s a good job we don’t all like the same thing otherwise planet earth would be a very dull place. Whatever you like someone else might not, and vice-versa. Some might hate my car - I really don’t care. What intelligent person buys a car because he/she thinks that others will like it?
It’s only a car! |

For the novice (me) to this site, would someone be kind enough to enlighten me on what LCI means? Limited Cosmetic Improvement is all I could come up with on my own, deducing from the contexts in which I've seen it used...

It stands for Life Cycle Impulse of all things but I think your meaning is closer to what happens

I would also add blind spot monitoring.

It’s the strangest omission of a feature in a long time but bmw did some crazy stuff on the f48. When I got mine the rumor was they would add blindspot monitoring in the next year model but they never did. And now the new x2 is missing the feature as well. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they didn’t fit the equipment or the feature.

If you ask me, the 'old' round halos look so dated, so do the fog lights in the bumper.
