X3 E83 Black screen after video module replace

A friend had to change the video module 9147138 and got one from a X5. it is the same PN. After that everything works, radio, CD, etc but the screen is black. Is there a specific coding that should he do in order to get it working properly? It was tested in a X5 and it's working. He got one from another X3 and his screen is working fine. is this module interchangeable? thanks in advance, Ivan
