I thought the only thing worse about these chargers is the my SA said the overheating is normal and to pretty much accept it! Mind boggling. Then He said the phone case is causing it to overheat. Next day took it on a road trip, no case on my phone…could have heated up my dinner on the phone.

I have a wireless charger in my house and it heats my phone up worse and charges slower. I'm ok with the OEM one in the car.

I ran the wire to the headliner and tucked it behind, then to the passenger C-Pillar and down the backside to the seam in the middle of the doorjamb. It tucks in the seam and comes out under the glovebox near the fuse panel you can use. You need to remove a twist-off fastened panel under the glovebox (super easy). You will see the fuse panel and you use #46 or the 20A Fuse next to the large blue relay. The entire process took about 40 minutes using a 20A fuse tap that is available just about everywhere, make sure it's 20A. You don't remove the C-pillar cover, you tuck the wire behind it on the side away from the windshield...super easy. It is really easy and the V1 Gen2 powers off in 6 minutes when the ignition is shutoff. Fuse number 46 is the front cigarette lighter and works perfect. Here were some I bought from Temu.com, Ali and eBay with images below:
$5-$10 Leather or rubber seat gap filler for driver and front passenger. Prevents phones, wallets and other personal items from falling under the seats, and can serve as extra storage and cup holders. $15-$30 Black trunk panel protector made of foam, cotton and felt. Protects against large heavy objects that could damage the plastic of the panel on the trunk door. $20-$100 Forward and rear facing dash cam in one on the front windshield. Also window stickers that says "I have a dash cam always recording in the car" to hopefully prevent vandalism and hit and runs. $20-$100 Front wireless, Bluetooth compatible camera. I mounted this on the license plate but the only way is to display on your smart phone with Mirrorlink. $1-$5 Rear floor vent extender and cover. Prevents small objects like coins from falling into the vents under the front seats. The extender helps redirect the floor vent air higher into the passenger cabin. $10-$25 Ventilated front seat fans. Helps keep the butt cool during the summer if your G01 didn't come with ventilated seats. $5-$10 Door magnetic protectors. I'm not sure if these would actually damage the paint, but there are also protectors added to the door edge from causing door dings. $15-$20 Thick silicon or rubber license plate frames to help protect against shopping carts and other parking lot mishap $1-$5 Silicon or rubber button covers to protect against wear |

I have been thinking about getting this since the little cubby on the left side of the dash is a little awkward for my sunglasses. Has anyone tried this or one of its many cousins on Amazon?

Indeed! I often catch myself staring in awe at the overhead sunglass holders in rental cars. But I guess that is what you give up for having the sunroof controls, map lights, SOS button, ambient lights, and laser projector for gesture controls stuffed up there.

And in my case returning two cars at the end of the lease forgetting the sunglasses were in there, so making a hurried return to the dealer the next day to collect them!!
