auto start stop removal//mild hybrid

Browsing on bimmertechs site i see that you can code out the auto start stop fucntion for x3s, which i fully plan to do. My 22 will arrive next week. Now the question is does anyone know if this will throw any codes or cause strange behaviors since the 22's have the mild hybrid, which is meant to assist with coming off the line when start stop is working normally?

I'd say try it first, its completely different to the stop start of the past and adds to the car now not removes from it. I"m genuinely not sure why anyone would code it not to work or put it in sport to avoid it switching off now its that good but each to their own, some like wasting fuel for no reason it seems.

Some find the feature annoying on vehicles they've had in the past. Call it what you will.

Do they no longer have a button you can press to turn it off? In my MY18 M3, you can turn this off via the physical button that says Auto, and you don't have to do it every time you start the car.

The button is gone for MY22.
Only way to turn it off is via coding or drive in sport, sport plus, sport individual or manual.

I have coded mine and I can't report any issues with it.

I have tried liking the ASS as others were suggesting that it is barely noticeable in the MY22 but I still feel it and it.

I coded mine to start in Sport Individual. You can setup this driving mode exactly as factory Comfort mode, if you want, but it would disable the Auto Stop/Start.

The button is still there, at least for x30i. I just coded it to remember it’s last position so that I can turn it on if I want to. But def still a physical button.

Are you talking about this button?
Mine doesn't do anything at all.
Do you mind sharing the code you used to get it to work?

Start-Stop on my MY21 sucks. I have coded myself to click that disable button after starting my car. But sometimes I forget and the result is a lot of cursing towards whoever implemented this. Good to know it is better in MY22 since they took that disable button away.

You do know that you can easily code ASS off (or to remember the last setting) on pre-LCI models with Bimmercode right?

I know this of course - but I don't really want to look into bimmercode for one item. Apparently it violates the warranty (correct me if I am wrong) so not sure if it is worth it. Now that I think of it, it would be nice to turn off the simulated engine noise inside the cabin as well. The fuse pull did not work on the MY21.

I've asked my service advisor and he told me they don't care about coding. My 2019 X3 M40i needed turbo replacement under warranty and they didn't mention anything about the coding. Ask around on the forum, but I don't recall anyone having a warranty claim denied because their car was coded. Our forum member freshxdough is a BMW Master Tech, you can try sending him a private message to see what he thinks.

Just being able to turn ASS and ASD off are worth the cost (not to mention all the other great things you can code).
