Acoustic Lock/ Unlock Stopped Working

Hi All,

Our X3 would always beep when locking and unlocking (accouatic sound). We just noticed it stopped doing it.

I verified the setting is on in the iDrive. I read that this sometimes happens as an indication that the alarm was set off and setting the panic alarm off on the key fob should reset and fix this. It did not in our case.

Any other thoughts? Maybe a fuse? Where is this sound made from?

Try turning the setting to off, wait a few minutes and turn back on. Sometimes this might re-set it

Will try this. I turned it off and back on right away and no change but will try turning it off for a while later on and then back on after a bit.

Have you tried an idrive reset, then try resetting the comfort access?

Mine won’t let me turn the acoustic notification on at all, the option is there but when I click it nothing happens. So I assume something is amiss. I will probably just get it looked at next time it’s in with BMW for a service! Unless some magic is uncovered here 😆

This maybe a shot in the dark but what about asking “Hey BMW” activate it, it may or may not work.

My tech suggested it is likely the SINE module which I believe is what actually emits the noise. Waiting on the part number and price to see if I order it and replace it myself. Will report back.
