I can't seem to find the right answer so i'll ask here....

If a PFL X3M has the digital cluster, does this automatically mean it has the ID7? or still ID6?

Yes but after 08-2020 (in Europe anyways) they have digital cluster, in my current M340i with the same cluster ID7 is present....

maybe the X3M also has ID7 when equipped the digital cluster.

I have a 2019 build date X3MC, and it has digital cluster. It's the older looking version with round gauges, which I prefer over the newer.

Easiest way to tell which idrive something has is to look at the steering wheel

idrive 6 has these black protrusions, idrive 7 does not

ID7 is lightyears better than ID6. ID6 plus old cluster just seems extremely dated. Additionally, the full digital cluster is the way with a ton of customization and M Mode!

iDrive 7 is nice & all. But the tachometer goes in the wrong direction & isn't as pleasant on the eyes. However, the classic old school style & look of the iDrive 6 with the traditional analog looking gauges appeals to many... because it's the last splash of the past before everything went 100% digital. To me it was the sweet spot & the last of the good ones. The M logo & welcome screen on the iDrive 6 is massively large, as it should be on a true M machine. On the iDrive 7 & up, the M logo is much smaller & more average looking. Wish we all had the option of toggling a menu between classic & modern. I think the pre-LCI models will be worth more someday. But it's hard to predict the future & that's a long was away I believe. LOL

I feel your comment, however i think the Digital dash is quite nice in the G20... i am used to it...

Also ID7 is very good IMHO
