Exclamation OE HK speaker grill swap gone horribly wrong, help please!

Decided to take the plunge and swap the grills out, following these threads

https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...5&postcount=31
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=39

Was super careful, took my time and everything was going great. Then I get to the rear passenger door, and this happens:

F*CK ME!

So now I need to find the part for the light assembly, see PDF.

Need help, please. Any ideas where to find the part number?

The numbers on the connectors are:

L3021194
C2354008E
2247700-2
5A37319-01

PBT-GF10
A8

Is this connector's color GRAU or VIOLETT?

Grau vs Violett. Simply google for a German to English translator & paste Grau then violett.

Off the top of my head gray=gray & violett=violet.

Correct, violet. Found out that its not actually asking about the color of the assembly, but it uses the color of the connector on the door itself.

goddamn why do they make things so complicated. LOL

EDIT: found this. The color is actually of the LED itself, not the harness corrector on the door

The long one that's at the top of the door, near the glass. There is a slight curve to the LED tube. From the diagram it looks to be #1 and #3

The local dealers are idiots and said the whole panel needs to be replaced.
I call a dealer in Houston and they say that the part number for the connector on RealOEM do not apply to the car.

The LED tube is correct (63316824242), still cant figure out the part number for the assembly itself (63319459825 or 63319459826).

Gave them my VIN and said they would call back, but they were very uninterested...

Ok figured it out after calling a couple of other (competent dealers).

Parts needed are 63315a37319 and 63316824242, and of course since I have the shittiest luck imaginable, they're in stock in FL and CA, and since there were 'canes there....

Thanks for the tip. I checked atlanta and sure enough they have them, order placed. Also placed the order for the plastic fasteners since I need to grind off the rivets/plastic welds on the panel.

I just noticed that the lower ambient light on my passenger side (RIGHT) rear door is out. So I've got this same problem. Wondering if I should order a new LED module AND the conductor assembly...

If you're still under warranty have them do the SIBs. Tell em one is dead the other is dying and they're starting to dim.

I'm no longer under warranty. It expired earlier this month. So I'll just buy the LED and/or the conductor on the lower portion of that door panel. Have to pop it off first to take a look under there. Hopefully it's just a loose connection.

Ask your stealer, they may do a goodwill repair, its not long ago.

But if they tell you to suck a lemon, then buy the conductors and connectors, both of them. Also get the screws and a small, accurate grinder for you to saw off all 20+ plastic welds. The connectors are locked in place by a small plastic tab that is part of the light element itself, so the connectors wont be lose, they'll be broken off.

Its a very delicate connector, you'll see what I mean. I think I posted the procedures if not i'll send em to you.

That's a great point. But I would rather not having the dealership touch my car or mess with my interior in any way. Unless I really need them to. I know of a dedicated specialist that owns a shop & performs projects like this on a regular basis. He literally has the hans of a surgeon & many people around here call him the BMW wisperer. He's performed magic on my X3 MC many times. Hopefully we can quickly & fairly cheaply fix this small issue. And I have my handy dremel tool just in case we need to cut anything.
