My personal opinion, if you still want it, I dont like the Brooklyn Grey color. I have not seen it on a BMW yet, but all the other cars out there with it just look drab. To me it seems like a fad color, which can be fun.
I tend to like the classic black colors. I got the Cobalt black, which is definitely not a classic black in typical paint colors. It looks blue at times. If you want something "different" but still in that classic color, look at Cobalt black. |

We have BG and bought it sight unseen (other than pics) with Mocha interior.
When we ordered it, we were unsure. Upon seeing it in real life, we're thrilled! Something different. This is the wife's car and she's had a while car for the last 20 years. Honda Civic, VW Passat, BMW 3-series and 2012 X3 with the exception of a Black 2005 Passat. Yes, it definitely has a blue hue/color component to it (depending on light conditions). If you're not into blue, I'm not sure you're going to like it. In darker conditions, it looks completely different. If you can, try to see one in real life if you're this apprehensive. I can understand why it might not be for everyone. |

No regret here! Love the color and I get so many complements. The contrast with the black exterior trim and red interior looks amazing!

I had Carbon Black Metallic on my last X3 M40i and I absolutely love that color. It would go great with Cognac. The way it changes color from almost black to a dark metallic blue in the sunlight is really special. If you are not worried about the hassle of maintaining the dark color, go with CBM!

As of now I am going PB/Cognac. Going with the blue calipers as well. I think it’s my final decision. I still have time since I’ll get my allocation next week for a may possibly June build. No hurry here. Glad I was able to get the HK and shadowline. Wasn’t able to get the 718m rims but I did order them from bmw so I’ll use the 20” I’m getting for winter setup. I think the blue goes well with all the black trim. Thanks for all the help and recommendations guys and gals. I’ll be sure to post pics when I pick up in a few months.

That was our second choice combo if my wife hadn’t liked BG.
Your car will look great

Where do you see the 150? Is that just a behind the scenes number that your dealer shared with you?
I'm planning to call and have them change the order now that drive recorded is available again. And I'm dropping the vented seats to gain the side bolster adjustment. Mine still shows "Order Received". I'm told I'm week 18 production. |

Picked up the BG with red interior sight unseen and as others have said it's gets a ton of compliments on the road. It's a color that when seen in person and in different lighting really pops. I love.

I was about to order my new X3 or i4 in that color. I had a test car in BG for one day and I was done with it. In my opinion it's a color that gets old quickly.

Stay away from carbon black tho, as that color is black after sunset only. Maybe y'all knew that, I know someone who didn't SMH 😭

When I first saw BG I thought it looked interesting (in a good way). But then I saw one in person and I honestly thought it looked like primer, kind of like when you see one of those tuner cars that's painted like that or has sections in need of painting. The more I see BG and similar colors from other manufacturers now (since it's not just BMW that's jumped on the primer gray bandwagon) I just feel like it's a fad and in two years it'll be gone. I'm also curious to know who all these compliments on the color are coming from (per some of the comments here). Are they coming from 22 yr olds w slammed Civic Si's or something?

To each it's own...I love my BG. Made a few trips to BMW dealerships in the area to see the color in person before my X3 M40i arrived. It's very interesting...kinda flat, kinda metallic. Looks awesome in shadowline package. looks almost white in a direct sunlight. Got light bluish tone but I love light blue. Love it or hate it? JMO.
