Is it me, or does this look more like an estate/touring/wagon than an SUV? Seems to be a little shorter...maybe its just the proportions.

It seems like BMW wants to update all of it's models… fair enough. Can't wait for the new M5 and X3M though.

The rear especially looks much shorter. Not sure if it's the camouflaging but the hatch looks small, and the roof line appears to slope down more.

The new roof line is nice. Glad to know they will continue the M models.

But no M mirrors
Maybe it's just me but since I was a teen I thought part of what made M "special" was distinguishing things like the tailpipes and mirrors that non Ms didn't have. Now BMWs all look like the range of 911s (in that a base 911 and turbo 911 hardly look any different) |

It does, I think its because its longer but the roof is lower. Looks like it will take after the X1 quite a bit.

The "sub-high-performance" market is saturated... and BMW is battling "sportier/better" looking models that don't have the performance characteristics of BMWs M-lights..... If I were made to venture a guess, that is why we might see M-light models have more "M" styling cues.
who knows. I'm torn on the look - not a fan of the wheels and skinny tires (MPGs?). |

Like it or not, BMW considers "M Performance" vehicles M vehicles. Full blown M characteristics have been trickling down for years now.
The best news here via the X3 M50i (probably @ 485HP) is that we get the option of one more generation of full ICE engine options. I suspect therefore the X3MC will be @ 600HP and the final full ICE variant. Don't know if this will translate to the next generation M3/M4.

Hopefully we can see nicer better structure in the interior. Plusher seats and more tech like larger models. Air suspension or sporty but comfortable adaptive suspension would also be great. Roof line looks promising. |

It's giving me f15 vibes.the kidneys also look more wide like the f15
Can they also stop upping the model designations? Doesn't feel like a 6 cylinder should get the M50i designation |

I also forgot to mention based on the upcoming x1s interior. I'm very excited for the new platform. Should be good. X1s seats look super plush even diamond leather stitching and wider. That with better suspension. Bmw can't loose. Always wanted a more plush feel on the middle class.

Hopefully BMW doesn’t mess this one up. The current (pre-LCI mostly) x3 is a home run design. I have faith. They can’t afford this model to fail.
