F90 M5CS wheels for the F97?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Been toying with the idea of getting custom wheels from China after several guys here have done so.

Then started looking at alternative wheels from BMW. Well, found that the M5CS F90 has front wheels that are identical in specs. So wondering out loud if they'll work front and rear...

The idea is get them bronze, lightweight (which BMW's are) and use the same size front and back to do 4 wheel rotations. Opinions?

Probably won't work on the front. The front 764M is a 9 inch wide wheel while the rear 764M is a 9.5 like the M5CS wheel. People or dealers that accidently mounted the rear 9.5 inch 764M wheels up front ended up with damage to the inside of the wheel and the strut as they don't clear.

This is because of the offset, according to several threads I read and commented on.

use www.willtheyfit.com to check your width/offset/tire size

Looks like it will be slightly more inset. You may need to run a spacer to make them clear.

No problem. It's unbelievably helpful when figuring out new set ups and comparing tire sizes. The wheel measurements will be quite accurate but keep in mind that tires have a lot of variance between manufacturers and models, even for a given size. You can get pretty close with this but your ultimate tire choice may require a little real-world trial and error.
