Album art with Android Oreo

Does anyone have album art displaying when using an Android phone? I recently got a 2018 X3 M40i, and have a Samsung S8, running Android 8.0. I've switched the Bluetooth profile to 1.6, and album art still won't display when using Google Music.

Not seeing it when using Pandora, it will show album art when using Spotify via the BMW connected app. Unless my memory is wrong, it did work with Pandora in my previous 2015 435i.

BTW: this is with a Google Nexus 5x, Android 8.1.0.

Doesn't display in a 2016 235, 2015 x3 or 2018 x1 either...ever. No matter the version of android or device brand
