No rain, I just haven’t followed the history of the features BMW offers closely enough to know. Since you said they were behind it implied this was a new feature for BMW.

Crazy to think that BMW is just getting this when you can now purchase it on a basic Honda. When I bought my BMW three years ago I was considering an ACURA TLX that had this same exact feature and it worked really well.

Different manufacturers implement these technologies at their own pace. BMW is about the middle of the pack. Toyota tends to be one of the last, preferring to wait until the bugs are ironed out. Honda / Accura is an early adopter.
Today, it is rare that the automaker is actually developing these systems. Instead they go to the parts bin at Bosch, Siemens, Valeo and others. |
