BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
26.02.2018

The all new BMW ALPINA XD3

Superior in any situation.

World premiere!

World premiere at the 88th International Motor Show in Geneva. The new BMW ALPINA XD3 builds on the great success of its predecessor, taking performance, driving dynamics and versatility to a new level. Unparalleled drivetrain delivers 285 kW (388 hp) over an impressively wide bandwidth ranging from 4000 to 5000 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 770 Nm.

Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6* seconds and on to a top speed of 266* km/h means the new BMW ALPINA XD3 is best-in-segment.

We look forward to welcoming you at the 88th International Motor Show in Geneva, from the 8th to the 18th of March 2018, Hall 6, Booth 6252.

* Preliminary data. Fuel consumption measured according to the new and more realistic WLTP (Worldwide Harmonized Light-Duty Vehicle Test Procedure) is 9.0* l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 238* g/km.

Unparalleled Performance

The engine delivers 285 kW (388 hp) over an impressively wide bandwidth ranging from 4000 to 5000 rpm and delivers a maximum torque of 770 Nm.

Quad-Turbo

Drivetrain based on the state-of-the-art BMW 3.0-liter straight-six engine with four turbochargers and common-rail high-pressure direct injection.

No Boundaries

Performance oriented all-wheel drive transmits power to all four wheels. Based on the intelligent BMW xDrive system and featuring an ALPINA specific torque distribution, it guarantees maximum traction, neutral driving dynamics and high levels of safety.

Best-In-Segment

Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6* seconds and on to a top speed of 266* km/h means the new BMW ALPINA XD3 is best-in-segment.

Driving Experience Control

The Driving Experience Control switch allows the driver to change between different vehicle set-ups at the push of a button – from Sport+ through to Comfort+.

Superior Handling and Dynamics

ALPINA sport suspension with electronically adjustable dampers together with an active rear limited slip differential ensures superior handling and dynamics without compromising ride comfort.

8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission with ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC

The new ZF 8-Speed Sport-Automatic Transmission with ALPINA SWITCH-TRONIC harmonises perfectly with the powerful drivetrain, offering both a very comfortable and smooth or decidedly sporty and dynamic operation.

Love the video.

Are those 22" wheels? Looks like they'd weight about 100lbs each.

And how exactly does Alpina make these? Normally a nearly-completed car is sent from Germany to the Alpina factory. Are they gonna ship them overseas from South Carolina for final assembly?

Quad-turbos in a inline 6 engine? Surprising.
What's not surprising? How much money I saved by switching to Geico.

I think they are gonna be completely produced in the USA, like its predecessor. That's why not all the options like Lavalina Interior or Alpina Blue paintwork are going to be available.

I am quite disappointed due to the fact that they use standard bumpers. The cars lacks dynamics IMO and looks blunt somehow. It would have been great if they built the new XD3 using the M Package bodykit as basis and not the standard one. M40i looks definitely sharper.

Those are 20s actually according to their press release. I thought the same. Looks like a rollerskate with those wheels.

Alpina has always styled the standard model instead of the msport. I wonder if this is an agreement between them and BMW to leave Msport alone.

dear god. 22s on an x3. that just goes to show how bloated the x3 has gotten that it can handle a 22 on a "performance" model.

Not really a big fan of Alpina but is this coming to the states? Not sure if we get a diesel 5 series here we don't get a diesel X5M though.

No - independent low volume producer.

Alpina products are excellent. They're not meant to be M cars but very fast GT's.

Limited volumes mean no discounts and very high prices for well species cars. In the UK you could buy an M5 for the same money (with discounts) as an Alpina B4S.

I'm going against the popular opinion here and just say that it looks ugly as hell. I don't like the spoilers, and the work they did on the dash. The blue tint looks just weird.
