Can't back out of driveway with someone in the back seat??

Not sure what the car is seeing but if I go straight back it hits the brakes when I get to the lower part of the driveway. It's not a steep driveway at all it just goes down a bit at the street level. I have to cut the wheels and go out at an angle. Is there a setting to make this less sensitive?

I had exactly the same problem, I think changing the collision warning to medium stopped the car applying the brakes. You can do this by pressing the button under the hazard warning button with the green light around the car.

I hope this helps...

I've found that keeping my backup speed constant but slow seems to prevent the issue. If I go and hesitate, then continue it can trigger the anti-collision braking.

You can disable automatic braking in parking mode, but I don't recommend this. Slow and steady pace is better imo.

I turned off the automatic braking in parking assist (or whatever the name is) because of my driveway out of the garage, but I agree it's not an ideal solution. Previously I would just turn it off temporarily when it cleared the garage but before it wanted to brake because of the inclining driveway. But honestly I don't like that view when I reach the curb anyway. I much prefer the view that shows the street 180 degrees left and right, but I have to select that manually also. I was going to ask how to make that the default, but perhaps that's not possible.

Maybe the sensitivity can be adjusted in expert mode of coding or whatever it's called?

You can set the 180 degrees view to pop up according to gps coordinates

There are many threads about this - but one older thread explained it well, let me check if I can find it.

But basically, yes it is the parking assist. The sensor is set in a way such that it picks up the ground as an obstacle in certain cases. This seems to happen to those who have slanted driveways and are backing out. The solution is to switch off the automatic braking as mentioned earlier in this thread.

I've already got that set up for one intersection near my house and another waypoint when I enter my driveway. But it doesn't kick off when I am backing out.

A side fix for this occurring issue is to press the hill decent control button on your center console. Or turn off the Automatic Braking in your PDC menu. There is a also a fix for this issue, I believe it is a programming conversion to change the sensitivity or perhaps the obstacle detection of the ground as a false object and stopping the vehicle. I would consult your local dealer. I performed this on my own vehicle but it was last July so I'm not sure exactly what it's called off the top of my head.

It's only working for the front camera, unfortunately.
