I recently installed a dashcam and noticed after installation that I now have a passenger airbag light on. Cant determine if its always been that way. Does everyone else have this light on for X3 M40i? It goes away once someone is on the passenger side.

What a coincidence. I was wondering the exact same thing the other day while I was waiting in the drive through.

Mine stays on all the time unless there is someone sitting in the passenger seat. Also confirmed that this is the expected behaviour from the manual

Yep, normal. Even my wife's old Lexus was like that. Aren't all late model vehicles like this?

This is normal as long as nobody is sitting on the passenger seat. If the light does not go out when the passenger seat is occupied, then it's time to get it checked out.

Ha, same I came to check this thread because I saw the same light after a dash cam install.
