I am getting the same incentives for what they had in the lot, which are lockable for 90 days. The other thing is that if incentives change for the better, you can apply those at delivery...

I think that's main reason why I want to custom build one. I'm thinking lease credit will be higher in March or April. But interest might go higher too! Can you mix match incentives from different months?

Some people recommend negotiating a price and then telling them you have a trade in but I disagree 100%. I ordered a 2020 X3 30 Xdrive two weeks ago and got 4.5% off sticker along with the $4,000 for loyalty and finance but I got $2,500 more on my trade than expected. I’m trading a 2013 X1 valued at $8,500 on trade at wholesale and I got $11,000 when I anticipated $8,500. I sure didn’t want to sell it myself with all the scams regarding selling cars yourself so I feel like got about 10% off retail on a custom order.

I got over 8% off MSRP and the base MF rate before incentives on a custom build.

This was actually better than what they were offering on what was on the lot, believe it or not

I ordered my car in late Nov. 2018 and was told that orders were different and they couldn't do the same level of discount. When the X3 arrived just before Christmas, it was added to their list of vehicles online and they advertised it online with the same discounts the "in stock" units were getting...that made for much easier negotiations. If possible, I'm going to try and buy all my cars during that 4Q window from now on.

So... anyone else going thru the order process as states are falling into lockdown like Dominos?? I ordered my M40i back on Feb 7th. Got a production slot right away, but didn't enter the assembly line for like a week and a half. Once it hit the assembly line though, it only took a couple of days before it was waiting on a carrier. It then jumped to "in transit" but that has taken two weeks, and just today it went *backwards* and now shows the car at port. ?? I'm assuming that means it's sitting in California now?

Well today our governor put the hammer down on all non-essential business. Wondering if it will now just sit "at port" or be trucked to the dealer while it is shut down...

Yes, it should be at the Port Hueneme/Oxnard VDC

I’m interested in getting a 2020 X3 and read that some are produced in SC. I live in FL. I’m not interested in taking delivery in SC but at my local dealer. I’ve always special ordered my BMW’s through my local dealer and have come from Germany and have taken about 1.5 to 2 months..

My question is will a special order X3 be faster to build and take delivery since it’s built in SC? Or is that not an option. Can you get a special order built and delivered to a FL dealer in less than 1 month?

Given the Spartanburg factory is closed through the end of April (apparently), there won't be any new X3s coming out for a while. I'm working with my dealer on ordering one and it could be a wait. That said, our '17 custom ordered X3 took about 4 weeks. We live in Boston.

I special ordered my M40i on 8/30 or so and it was delivered 10/1. No delays in my order and I'm on the west coast so shipping may have added a day or two or so. Expect a month once you have a VIN and is scheduled for production. That is if everything is still up to speed with Covid and such.
