Not nearly as obnoxious as the early demo clips made it appear. Sounds phenomenal!

Ah I guess the S58 does sound quite similar to the S55. Performance should be another notch up tho.

Car sounds good, can't imagine what the cost for the exhaust would be.

I dunno if it's just my ears, but this sounds like a mid-90's 911 Turbo in both 2nd and 3rd gears. Akrapovic knows how to get that rasp out! The S58 sounds nothing like the S55 in my opinion (from inside the cabin). S55 has a deeper toned buzz while S58 has a classic race car scream. Both engines are phenomenal.

In theory could just the midpipe be fitted and then joined to the stock muffler with clamps?

It sounds like a Civic though. Seriously, except for the full throttle runs it just sounds cheap and blatty Way overboard on the burbling too. Then you have the tacky look of it as a cherry on top. Sorry, just not a fan of the whole package

I like his mid-pipe too. But the resonator on the Akro piece features more of a smoother bend inside the mini X-pipe instead of a harder bend in the H-pipe. So it created a more refined sound. Especially in the upper RPM's where this X3 M will live quite often.

Really? I just got pricing on one in Canada. I have the Akra axle back and it's quieter than stock without the mid-pipe.
