Interesting, thanks for the input. I've never run Conti's and I guess based on this, never will!

Still working on finalizing my winter set-up, but strongly leaning towards Pilot Alpin5 SUV 235/55/19's all square. Really want the extra side wall for the terrible potholes around here.

Hehe - I've had 2 sets of Conti's and both were terrible. Neither was cheap either.

First was ContiSportContact 5P (ultra high performance summer, runflat) on a C43 AMG. Terrible tire, noisy, wore fast, extremely fragile sidewalls (blew one out on a very mild and low speed encounter with shallow pot hole). Overall horrible and extremely expensive.

Second was a touring SUV tire that came on my 2016 MDX. Wore out in 25000 km's of general SUV driving. Not good.

Replika makes some nice BMW wheel replicas (including a replica of the 718M 21" cerium wheels) but in 19" versions. Wish they made them in 20. I feel like 19 will look too small on the M40i, especially when I'm used to 21's...

Thanks for all the comments - I will continue to narrow down the search.

If I go 19", this is probably the replica wheel (699M copy, but in 19") I will get for winter :

I ordered the exact same one in 19", pair with PA5 245/50/19XL.
I saw my neighbor using the exact same wheel in 18" on his M40i, with 225/60/18

Down side is this wheel is heavy, If you willing to pay a bit more, you can get a GTS G508, which look really nice and is lighter, but is $60 more per rim.

Mine did not fit the OE caps, the retaining clips on the MSW cap is recessed inside while the BMW caps have their clips on the very edge.
