X4M in Donnington Grey with Sakhir Orange interior is my preferred choice so far. Waiting begins.

really sad at no laser light option, new 3 series has it, guess that will be in the LCI, makes wonder if its worth waiting a year for the 2021.

All I want is a freakin shark with a laser beam

really want Toronto Red exterior but not a fan of beige/tan interior and hate to go with boring black leather. really wish they had black with SO inserts instead of that grey.
full SO interior would most likely clash way too much with Toronto Red exterior. Why can't we get some red stitched or red/black two tone seats, everyone else has them.

why can't we get these from the X4 M40i

wonder how Donington with SO interior would look. Would go Mineral white but that's not an option (I like metallic paints, so AW not really for me).

You can play around with the exterior colors 360 view here

https://www.bmwusa.com/future-vehicl...irst-ever.html

Also I am assuming this has the old smaller head up display? not the new larger version? the german pdf brochure makes it look pretty small.
again one of those things, brand new car that costs $$$, why doesn't it have the latest BMW tech? going to piss off early buyers if in 1 year with the X3 LCI the Laser lights and larger HUD become options.

Take a look at this thread where I asked about the new tech on the X3 and an insider is saying that they will be changing the dash and tech starting with the August production. I’m going to hold off!

thanks for this, I own my M3, warranty ends in September though
super low mileage so I guess I can take my chances with it for a few months.

wonder if with the dash update they will also offer full leather for the X3M, really surprised thats not an option considering this car is just the X version of a M3.

Guess those are my biggest dissapointments
1) weight, this might change though as it seems odd it would weigh 4600 lbs
2) no laser light option
3) old dash/tech, including smaller HUD
4) rear tires should be at least 275 if not 295
5) interior leather choices seem odd (like the gray, are they trying to make a comeback for gray leather?, that should have been black with SO inserts and stitching).
6) no full leather option (glove box, dash, top of doors...)

I'm gonna have to drive one. If it's as fun as it look may need to dump my Rubicon and Boxster S.

Hello, where is classic non-metallic Jet Black on the paint color list?

Jet Black (code 668) is not (and has not been for some time) an M color. It would be individual order.

Donington Grey would look awesome w/ the Sakhir Orange interior on the new X3M. i had AW/SO on my M3 and now MG/SO on my M4 'vert and love it. this time around, don't think i want SO again for 3rd time on my X3M. need to see Black/Beige combo in person before making final decision ...

If this turns out to be the way things are headed (the thread you mention is extremely accurate and I follow regularly), I am going to wait the 6 months before I jump in. I was willing to live with the wrong steering wheel in the M40i but I am not going to sit in a BMW with the same tech for a total of 6-7 years.

They're supposed to be adding some the carbon fiber options in August as well. I'm waiting to see what changes actually happen and will go for a Sept or Oct production slot and hopefully have it right before the holidays. Figure I can get a full two years out of the M40i before swapping.

Where did you hear about the carbon fiber options coming in August and not in April? You hear of anything else? Anything of note on the LCI in a year (MY2021)? Seems like we are on the same boat. Thanks for your input.

If they are offered on the build site, e.g. Tanzanite, Citrin, Smoked Topaz, Champagne Quartz, etc., I believe $1950. If not, $5000. If an end of run F80 blowout model: "Included"

I'll add that while it wasn't individual, the Sparkling Brown I ordered on my F22 for ED was a very limited color for that car. Neither I, nor my detailer, have come across a higher quality paint job on a BMW. Not sure if it's the ED aspect or the paint color/car combo, but it was a step above any other. Quote from when they perfected the paint..."This paint is HARD, it's really GOOD!"

Yeah, in the release thread it's mentioned:

Quote:
Carbon fiber strut brace will be available as an option beginning August 2019
Quote:
OPTIONAL M CARBON EXTERIOR PACKAGE
Expected to be available from August 2019
Design elements in carbon fiber- reinforced plastic (CFRP) for the front air intakes, the air blades in the front apron, the rear diffuser and the exterior mirror caps
CFRP rear spoiler on X4 M and BMW X4 M Competition
It appears they're doing a normal August production update to the model, so might as well wait to see what happens.

Is the LCI confirmed for MY2021? It used to be a 5th model year update but these new development cycles seem to have been to release things as they have them available instead of doing one big update a little over halfway through the life cycle. That's why I figure I'll just trade-in every 2 to 3 years as stuff that interests me is released.

I agree except when you have kids which a lot of X3 buyers have. Even the best drivers get distracted by those monsters. Nice having something like collision mitigation just Incase.
