This isn't really new news. Haven't we known about the M3/4 getting the S58 for some time now.

I am sure we were all aware of that however I thought the HP would be much more.

Much more? The horsepower is considerably more than the current generation M3/M4. Considering how fast the X3M/4M are one has to think the new M3/M4 will be faster than the M5 and M8.

Assume you missed that this information are the top 2 articles on the BIMMERPOST one page. And power being consistent makes sense since the car will be substantially lighter. Should be a fun car.

The engine and the HP outputs aren't news but the bump in torque is, to 479 from 442.

Will be interesting to see where that comes in.
