A little wash today. Sorry for the bad lighting, a little editing didn’t help it either.

wheels tires

Hi everyone

been busy at work & home
during this weekend did some mods
parts were came week ago(ER downpipe & Eventuri carbon intake from RG sport - thanks ben!!)
also i bought wheels from my brother-in-law and installed new tires.

he had to sold out his car(same as x3M) in short period so i took them with great deal
Actually i was going to order same wheels within a month. lol

HOWEVER, i had noticed front tires are slightly rub at maximum turn - not often but at any moment. usually when i back up at maximum turn inner front grill are touched

Tire size: F:265/40/21 R:305/35/21
Brand: Perelli scorpion p zero - due to rear tire size - was not available MPS4
height - MSS kit maximum lower
Wheels - HRE P101 with 12mm spacer due to extended wheel arch..
not i really liked stance. (i dont know about offset and he didnt remeber either)

is this rubbing because i did too much drop?
please help me out lol

thanks

It's hard to define that too much of a drop that is causing the rubbing, or rather that its just related to the drop. Without knowing the width and offset of the wheels, it's hard to say if its more related to the 12mm spacer that you added to the HREs too.

What part of the tire is rubbing?

Thank you for the shoutout.

Your rubbing is because of the wheel spacer that you add to fill in the gap from new fender flare.

If you notice, the fender well is caved inward to clear the wheel movement.
With you pushing the wheel outward passed its original position, at full lock, it has the largest diameter where it will rub against the fender liner.

If it is occasional rub, usually it is not a big deal.
It will shaved off after time.
But, I suggest to find out where exactly does it rub.

Thanks! If I was still in Germany...that would be a no brainer. The horrible roads, bad drivers, and the normal traffic that is coming back in San Antonio...most likely not.

Yeah, looks fairly minor....raising it up a bit should help with the clearance..but it is a combination of the ride height and the spacer that is causing it. As Ben mentioned too, you should be fine with the minor adjustments.

For every one's info...

As I'm looking to change wheels and lower the car, i too a look at Manhart, whom are running a similar setup:

F: 265/35/R21 (9x21 ET20)
R: 305/30/R21 (10.5x21 ET 40)

They used H&R to lower their car by 30mm...

So i would guess that if you change your front tire to a 35series, rubbing issue might be solved.

Sorry for you...wished I could have provided the info earlier

I was astonished (and happy of course) once I saw tt Manhart was putting on a 305 on the rear...as no other of the more 'well known' Tuner does.

And as in Luxemburg the custom parts need to pass certification, similar to german TÜV, the obvious way wass to check what is done in Germany

So the plan for my car is actually:

Suspension: MSS
Wheels: Manhart (in the hope to get certification with MSS suspensions)
Power: Might go with Manhart, not sure for the moment...
Exhaust: Will contact Manhart for this as well
Bodywork: Front splitter normally RKP (best looking IMHO) & rear splitter MPE (if I don't find any similar product)

Not really sure how they come up with that tire size, but the rolling diameter is 0.7" shorter than stock.

Ratio wise for the diff is ok.
But, you'll be going 100mph on the dash, but actual speed is slower.
