This is the M forum, most of us will have no clue.

Heres a video I found explaining the difference.

Changed the brake pads to the isweep 1500. One of the easiest swaps I've ever done. Fronts took 10 min total and rears about the same. I did spend a bunch of time cleaning the calipers (AGAIN!) that were completely covered in brake dust from just a week of driving. The new pads did leave some dust after bedding, so I'll check the wheels again after a few more miles. I will say the dust is not rusty/red colored so that's a plus.

Also installed carbon fiber center console and radio bezel. Matches the OEM carbon fiber almost perfectly. Another less than 10 min install for both pieces total.

Hoping for the least amount of dust & it's my wife's daily driver, so little to no aggressive driving. The 1500s stop very well. Granted I didn't do any hard accelerations/hard decelerations on the stock pads to compare, but it's stops from 80 pretty darn quick on the new pads.

The KWs are magic. Two way adjustable dampers and lots of height adjustment. I asked for them to set it up as close to stock ride height as possible. Ultimately they found that this would have preloaded the springs some, so they set them with less than a quarter inch drop. The drop is basically imperceptible.

The truck feels composed and planted even over disruptions while cornering, instead of getting bouncy like the stock suspension would. I feel like I can manage the weight better and actually weight transfer appropriately, rather than just react to whatever the truck is responding to from the road surface. Much more confidence inspiring. The improved ride quality is icing on the cake.

I honestly believe BMW fucked up with the factory spring rates on these things, not just from a ride quality perspective but from a handling perspective as well. This thing just performs better with a softer spring and appropriate damping. Comfort mode with the stock springs was under-damped and bouncy, and sport plus felt appropriately damped but matching a too-stiff spring rate that would skip over road imperfections and resulted in less grip. I'd rather have no EDC and choose one correct damper setting than have three damper settings that are all compromised.

The rebound/compression settings that KW suggests feel great out of the box. I may mess around with them once I get bored and curious but I'm satisfied for now.
Does the truck finally feels like a normal SUV at the very least?
When I switched from my wife's XC90 to the X3M... oh man... bumpy as f**k.

Does the KW V3 makes the X3 drives more like a regular BMW at least?

Swapped out the Conti tires for some PS4 265/295s. They feel so much smoother and I love the look of a little extra beef. Now if it would stop raining here in Vegas I could clean the damn wheels!

Is yours pre-LCI or LCI with Contis? If so I could see why you might feel it is bouncy.

I don’t think the LCI X3MC is bouncy at all with Michelins especially with AS4s. Don’t take this the wrong way but you may have been better off with a regular X3 or x3 M40i if expectation is a regular SUV ride. Always test drive first before buying.

Just had the AA non res midpipe installed on Friday , sounds amazing! Installed vsc-2 valve controller last night, stepped up the rowdyness a bit! Way more burbles, and much deeper growl on acceleration and deceleration, and she barks loud on higher rpm’s shifts! Truly feels like an M driving experience now, very pleased! Still civil and quiet with valves closed or even when open and in efficient mode. Valve controller is an easy install and even have it programmed to homelink. More mods scheduled for next week, can’t wait!

It feels like an M SUV should feel now. It is still firm and has very little body roll, but it is no longer unnecessarily jarring like it was out of the box. Mine is a pre-lci on the Michelins btw. It will still be stiffer than your XC90 most likely.

People generally seem to think that stiffer = better handling and that is just not the case. Often you lose grip if the car is too stiff to react to the road surface adequately or the dampers aren't valved to control the spring appropriately.

I started a thread with a more in-depth review of the KWs if you guys want to check that out.

Congrats and best color by far! Order your IND color matched reflectors, looks perfect except for the orange reflectors see pic attached of mine.

Thanks M3Pilot09! I can live with the orange reflectors for now. First mod will be new brake pads because cleaning these wheels would be a PITA!

Did you have the wheels ceramic coated as well? That would make them much easier to keep clean.
