This video explains it all and saw it there. Not really a on/off kill switch but a passive starter stopper. Scotty is pretty funny guy with good car tips in general.
https://youtu.be/NH19CDA5t_8

The part is cheap around $75 shipped but my install came in close to $700 because I wanted certain way.

Nothing is %100 theft proof but it is not something a thief is going to figure out in 5 minutes.

It is from Australia and took about 2-3 weeks delivery time.
https://starterstopper.com/

Cons are, no more remote start. Have to tell SA where my buttons are if I take it in for BMW dealer service or to anyone else who would drive the car.

I looked into a more advanced option called GHOST, Pandora or IGLA depending on the market but could not justify spending $2000 plus for it. Can use existing buttons in car which can be changed and let’s you keep remote start and can be disabled for dealer service. Cons for this are you are messing with CAN BUS in the car and who who’s what would happen after BMW OTA update.

https://youtu.be/slQxzW8_-RQ

https://youtu.be/NfDxCZiyODY

I found 2 shops in NYC area who said they could install IGLA which seems to be very popular with Hellcat owners. PM me if you want to go that route.

Got the vent visors on both fronts. Only did the passenger rear for now because I’m worried about them staying in. 😅

Piano Black Center Console - Fix

My '22 X4MC (LCI F98) came with the god awful piano black trim around the center console and iDrive buttons. The "frame" around the center console was replaced by better looking carbon fiber - at a considerable cost. A friend bought a '23 X40M (Silver start/stop) and it came with a much nicer center console (see picture). I tried to replace my cover with one from the '23 X40M, but gave up.
What to do? I removed CF frame, removed four screws and you can access the underside of the iDrive controller unit. My idea was to remove it from the vehicle (after disconnecting negative terminal in the trunk) and spray the surface with clear matte spray. Two of the three wire connections came off easily, but I could not release the pink connector (embarrassing).
Finally gave up on that connector, taped up the shifter and iDrive controller as well as an area around the red start/stop button. I ended up with just one coat of the spray, but would recommend TWO lighter applications, should I do it again.
No more finger prints or scratches on the black piano surface and it feels great too. Finish looks better than picture shows.

Had my Dinan springs & bumpstops installed. Just enough of a drop visually without turning it into a snowplow in the winter. The ride is also much improved and way less harsh without feeling like I've given up any performance. Should have done this ages ago.

Now to replace my worn contis with 265/295 PSAS4s.

Man. I’m so tired of seeing and hearing people posting about their new springs. I’m sitting here on my stock ones just bouncing along so jealous at stock ride height
Car looks great how much did you lower it? It doesn’t look like much but enough for someone to notice it’s not quite stock

It's about a 1" drop front/rear - the photo was real dark so the tire kinda blends into the wheel well.

If you weren't an X3M owner you probably wouldn't think it was lowered, unless it was parked next to another stock X3M. But IMO it makes it look just slightly more aggressive.

I've had them sitting in my garage for a few months now wish I had just gotten them installed when I bought them!

was FINALLY able to complete the Digital Key retrofit with the recent RSU that finally populated to my car. The NFC/Wireless charging tray worked right away (starting the car with my phone). i was able to get the door handle installed too... a new one was ordered (all of which was in separate pieces unpainted). it was a bitch to take apart the original door handle but i was able to get the new innards (Comfort Access/NFC sensor) inside of it and not have to deal with painting a new one.

special thanks to thestimp and Tim@codemybimmer for pioneering this endeavor and answering all of my questions.

but for some reason i CANT get the digital key added to my wallet on my Watch. I’ve hard restarted both devices, ive already removed and re-added the digital key to my phone, but when i get to the step of adding the key to my watch, i get the error message above. short of having to delete my phone (which i DONT want to do) I’m at a loss. Cant find any information online either.

anyone else dealt with this/have a solution?

EDIT: after tons of research the only way to resolve the issue is to unpair the watch and then re-pair to your iPhone. While the Watch was setting up (from the most recent backup) the Digital Car Key was installed to the Watch right away. now it works like a charm! two years of wanting this feature and I finally have it. so excited!

They do! Congrats! I can’t wait to get mines, you got it from autotecknic?
Was the 3M tape enough? Or did you have to put more?

I just got my 23 X3MC, and I just installed the CF Mirror Cap, CF side grille, CF front grille, put some 5 percent tints, all weather mats, CF center console, M logo door pins and tune ECU. Just waiting for CSL yellow lights, CF seat cover, CF BMW emblem for hood and trunk, and I have a lot more to go, this car can be modified so many different ways! I love it!!!! I barely use my M3 now lol

Installed the anthracite Evolve paddles. Prefer the solid metal feel of these paddles to the M Carbon and the ergonomics are perfect.

Those paddles look great, I've been on the fence about getting them but I might have to bite the bullet now.

Got mine from RW Carbon, since the weave matches the paddles / dash.
I did need to put additional 3M tape, but still used residue-free stuff so that it won’t damage the plastic.

Okay, that’s great. I got mines from autotecknic, I got it from there because my M3 CF seat back cover was excellent quality and material. Great stuff.
