Let us know how it sounds once you’ve had a chance to drive it!

I’ve driven it quite a bit over the last couple of days and it’s not as loud as I thought it was going to be, which isn’t a bad thing. You can definitely hear it in the cabin, but it’s not obnoxiously loud. If I have the radio turned up, I can’t hear the intake at all. Again, not a bad thing. I can’t comment on the sound outside the vehicle. I asked my wife to drive it up and down our street while I stood in the driveway, and she laughed at me and told me I am a dork.

Overall, I am happy with it. I bought the Eventuri intake for my old F97 and that did absolutely nothing, besides look nice under the hood.

Thanks for the feedback on it. Honestly, quieter is better. I’ve found intakes on turbo cars real hit or miss. This is my wife’s car and last time I put an intake on hers (it was an OG N20 X1), it sounded like crap. Granted, much different car we’re talking about!

Yeah, I get it. I wanted to hear the turbos but didn’t want obnoxious. It’s probably much louder outside of the vehicle than inside the car and for $450, even if I hated it, is much better than wasting $1500 on the eventuri for essentially a carbon fiber engine cover.

Do you have any sound clips you can post? The clip on BMS' site makes it out to be quite noticeable (which I prefer).

Also, how'd you get it for $450? I can only find it for $499

Got the install done after sitting on it for several weeks. Will be interested to hear how it sounds but here is a quick shot to start.

Did this on my 2008 X5, and it made a huge difference.
Not sure why I haven't done them on my X4, guess I need to make it happen now, thanks for the push

Looks well built! What’s up with the vertical piece in each exhaust tip?

That’s their signature feature on all of their exhausts.
Check out their web page: https://gthaus.com/
They build some really beautiful pieces.

Played around with Bimmercode settings on X4MC - verified disabling ASD in app kills the piped in audio but still supports exhaust valve toggle. Opinions on what it did/didn't do were all over the place...

With windows down, you could hear (almost feel) the valves flip with each button press.

Also... does the giddiness eventually wear off? Even the wife enjoys it when we vroom-vroom - says it feels like a rollercoaster.

On my 2023 X3M, I completely lost burbles from the exhaust when I coded ASD off. The valves were still opening and closing but there was zero burbles from the exhaust. My conclusion was that Sound Control (ASD) was affecting the piped in sound but also the engine tuning that affected overruns and burbles.
