Wife took her ring off and set it on the dash to put lotion on her hands. She says the ring fell down the driver's side defrost vent. Any advice on how to locate and/or retrieve it?

I've spent 8+ hours looking for it with a cheap borescope / inspection camera. Maybe I need to try a more expensive one that has directional control. I'm slowly taking the dash apart while looking with the camera, but this is definitely the last resort. The ring is gold so magnets won't work.

Haven't found a diagram for the defrost duct. This air duct diagram doesn't show it:
