3. No. There are three options you can program with the VSC-2.. OPEN (valves open ALL the time), CLOSED (valves closed ALL the time), and AUTOMATIC (OEM/Factory Control).
Thanks for the answers... with "closed" does it stay closed for a cold start? i always feel bad for my neighbors when i start the car LOL.

if you go on the cg-precision website you can order your VSC-2 and program it the way you like…. Deactivated and Activated. You can have it in any combination.

Anyone had any issues with Valve Controller fitted on LCI X3MC?

I have EML amber showing on my car and BMW says it is caused by valve controller!

Don't have any EML's and CG PRECISION VSC-2 controller works extremely well. I had ordered the Peem valve controller but for some reason it didn't function as intended..

No issues with the dAHLer valve controller, works well as it remembers the last setting so it can be set to always be open

works fine! yet to encounter any problems with it. some have installed it on the passenger side of the vehicle (whereas I have left it on the driver side valve) to prevent unwanted vibrations, but ive been lazy and haven't bothered. still works like a charm.

there's another brand called SST that's been popular on the G8x platform that's been reliable as well. best part is that SST is reasonably priced and offers three different modes (open/closed/oem). if I were to get a valve controller NOW I'd much rather go with THAT one simply because it offers all options without having to customize a 'specific' configuration.

Does it operate both exhaust valves from a single sided connection, if so then it would have saved me an hours work.

check an install video (they're all pretty similar). basically the controller box has a wire that splits into two (one is longer to reach the opposite valve) with a male and female connector on each end. the male oem connector goes into one of the female connectors of the controller and the male connector of the controller goes into the valve actuator (on the exhaust) itself. think of it as a piggyback box.

it's a simple process and connecting it all up should take no more than 15-20 minutes... maybe double that time if you want to clean it all up and make it nice and pretty.

We offer CG and SST, SST has been our best seller (for valve controllers) for a couple of months now. No issues and its got 4 different mods.

I do check out G80x forum time to time but should hang out there more I guess 😁.
Thanks for the SST suggestion. Read the entire SST thread there and going to see if I can install the module inside the battery cavity and run the wires down via grommets like some G8x owners did.

Do you hear a difference instead of just putting it in sport plus mode ?

I have a midpipe and just drive in sport plus. Was wondering if the valve controller would make it louder?

I would say it depends. It might not be day and night. For me pops are a bit louder, a bit. Sometimes If I downshift now I can hear a large let out pop before burbling. Before everytime I drive in sports+, if I don’t floor it the valves will close. With this controller it keeps it open. When you are in idle, the valves still close for some reason which sucks.

All I wanted was the car to start up loudly, but you can do that with accessory mode. If you are tuned might as well code valves to be fully open in sports+. I am stock.
