Centre armrest storage tidy tray from AliExpress
Decent quality for the money IMHO
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...27424c4dIKZrIj

Before -

After -

Splits the space under the arm rest approx. in half
The tray drops in the top. Fits well. No rattles
Makes better use of this space IMO

Nice X3, I need to get the black grills for mine.

Also annoys me there's no rear sill protectors

First time towing today with the X3
Our caravan storage is only 5 mins away, so not much of drive to assess it
However the 'zoom to trailor tow hitch' which is part of the reverse camera is invaluable. Makes reversing up to the caravan a doddle

Gave a 12 year old driving a Vauxhall Corsa a shock when I left him for dead at the traffic lights with the 'van attached lol

Good training video..."running a bit rich"...Love it...

Nice setup...Thinking of getting one....Had a 30 ft motorhome new in 2010...bought it as I was planning early retirement...sold it a year later, when I didn't retire...with 2500 miles on the clock....most expensive few miles I have ever driven.

What sort of weight is your caravan?

Smile Same car

Just had my X3 delivered looks exactly like yours (they do look good in white) except mine is on 21" wheels surprised how well it rides, but I suppose it's because I came out of a A5 cab with 20" and that was a firm ride. Very new to forum so apologies if not using the correct protocol.

We collected our new to us 2017 Compass Camino 660 on Friday 6th March

Very very happy !

The collection day pic lol

Pleased to find out that all the 13 pins were wired on the tow bar electrics on my X3

Fridge works with the engine running, leisure battery charging & ATC trailor control working as it should

Saved a 'scene' at the BM garage lol

Nice one Col, but to be honest would have enjoyed commentary on the scene 😂

First time away with the X3 & our new to us Compass Camino 660 caravan (210720)

Considering our X3 has a 20d engine it does pull our 1800kg surprisingly well
On our return journey home the X3 averaged 26.4mpg over a 85 mile journey on mainly motorways

I opted to leave the X3 in cruise control at 61mph (coz I can lol) so chose ease over mpg as I'm sure it would have been closer to 30mpg without CC towing

As it happens, we had to return home 1/2 way thro the break, so I did the same 85 mile journey without the 'van
Cruise set at 75mph in adaptive mode
50.2mpg average which ain't too bad for a SUV that weighs nearly 2 tonnes

Breaking the speed limit eh !! Bristle, I tend to cruise at 56 mph towing giving me some spare to overtake HGV's

Had a great 10 night stay at Eye Kettleby Lakes near Leicester Uk

Easy drive down but the roads were horrendous - 10 miles of roadworks bad 2 incidents where one lane shut that caused absolutely havoc - 28.2mpg over 157 mile trip this time - bloody sat nav took us thro' Melton Mowbray town centre which was 'interesting' with a 24 ft caravan in tow lol

Return journey was a lot easier, quieter & quicker - 29.4mpg over the same route again with cruise set at 61mph

Mpg seems to improve with every journey I tow

Looking for 30mpg+ on our next trip

First service today on the X3 today at the local BMW main dealer
My wallet is now £335 lighter for the pleasure - thanks for that!

Had the use of a 4000 mile 21 plate M240i as a loan car so had a little play but boy was the suspension hard

To add insult to injury it was insurance renewal day as well FFS
£230.17 / annum fully comp, protected NCD, etc etc
Renewed with Flow which is part of Liverpool Victoria

The X3's had plenty of use over the last 12 months since I last updated this thread

Its still averaging between 24-28mpg towing & always returns over 50mpg on a long run so happy enough

I thought I would give the 'Eco Pro' driving mode a proper try out today
I know I know its taken me almost 2 years

Same 70 mile journey, same speed on cruise control (73mph indicated 70mph true), almost the same traffic conditions, same ambient outside tempreture, same fuel load, X3 loaded the same

Driving mode - comfort - 48.9mpg
Eco pro - 48.7mpg

Tbh I don't like the way the gearbox changes up early on Eco Pro so for me won't be using it again

Been a while so a couple of updates

Little boot mod done January 2022

Got a pair of these from Aliexpress for £13 delivered

Before -

After -

Velcro's on the inside for a neat finish
As I have a rubber boot mat that goes into the offside recess I can only use the nearside one for the time being
Not an exact match, but it never was going to be being non OEM. Fits very well IMHO

November 2022

X3 been in for its pre-end of warranty inspection, brake fluid change & first MOT

Inspection went fine - showing about 10% wear on all brake pads after 15k mileage - happy enough with that as towed the 'van quite a lot in the 1st 2 years
Brake fluid change - well what can you say but brakes are defo 'sharper'
MOT - straight thro' no advisories but I would have been surprised if it hadn't

Got a 1900 mile 72 plate BMW M340d as a loaner
Well, that is one rapid piece of machinery but I was left a bit under whelmed with the interior for a £55k TBH
Engine is defo the star of the show mind
Would love that engine in my X3, but thats another story ...

The cost for the inspection, brake service & MOT? £176 at my local BMW main dealer
Could have been worse I suppose

Last service at main dealer as I'll be going the indy route as its out of it warranty 21st November

Still getting 50+mpg on long runs outta the X3
