I got my VIN, production week and possible delivery week.
Production in week 30/07/2018 in Spartanburg.
Expected delivery first week of september.
Current status: 150.

Not sure if this will be a 2019 model? On my order confirmation it said option Z19 Modelyear 2019, but on the print out I got from the production system it doesn't show this option. It also doesn't mention model year 2018, so anyone know how it works?

Yeah it's a 30d, according to other info the production for 2019s starts from productions august so I guess this will be a 2018 model. Don't know what to do? Signed the order for a 2019, but without sensatec dash. Dealer called me that he found a production slot with sensatec dash but didn't tell me it could be a 2018 model, do I need to worry? Or is the 2019 model not adding/fixing anything?

AFAIK nothing major changed, maybe a small configuration changes. As long as all options you wanted are listed, I wouldn't worry.

It may still be a 2019 as that week runs into August, not sure how you would find out unless a US user can help, MY is never a big thing in Europe so probably wouldn't make any difference

Just found out that there is a letter code in VIN for model year, useful I thought, the 10th digit in vin should be a letter, J is 2018 and K is 2019 but guess what it doesn't work in Europe, we get a '0' in the 10th position instead

I think you'll be fine, it makes no difference that I can see

Mine says WBATX71010 , so you are right it's a 0. Europe doesn't seem to care about MY but more about production dates and license-plate register date. Some people wait with delivery so they can have a "2019" delivery, although the car was waiting the dealer lot for 6 weeks. I never understood that, IMO it's combination of production year and production month that matters in order to see the age of a car.

100% agree
Agree as well, it would only really matter on a LCI change year but even then I don't think it would affect the 2nd hand value in Europe after 2-3 years

Anyone know the delivery time from Rosslyn plant to Europe? I was trying to search something, but I was unlucky.

Hi!
I'm also waiting for a 30d with scheduled production week 30, and I've heard one annoying detail that originally was planned for August production and forward, for the 30d engine, and that is Euro6d-TEMP classification instead of Euro6. Might not be a big deal, or it might. Depending on where you live, and if the local council wants to limit things in the near future. Or add more road tax for <= Euro6.
But since rumours are that they started with the MY2019 changes earlier, perhaps it will have all the HW to get the Euro6d-TEMP certification anyway..

I guess I'll see it when it get registered here in Sweden...

here in France they don't go that far, Euro6 is OK, they don't mention which Euro6. And the motors won't be changed between july and august production so nothing we can't have on our july production models...
mine has finally arrived at dealership !
delivery scheduled for next monday

Thats good point for sure! As I look at Bmw.de they mention first page that all their diesels are Eur6d-temp ceritified, it would be very strange to me if I will get a diesel which is just Eur6. I hope they get that TEMP done now as that could definately impact resell value in the next 4 years or so. Depending on all the crazy anti-diesel heist which is going on in Europe. Eur6 is fine, yes for now... In Holland they have implemented a new emission test , or maybe its even Europe wide, WLTP test. BMW is one of the few manufacturers who has all his vehicles already up to WLTP standards so maybe same thing for the Eur6-temp. Let’s hope and fingers crossed.

Maybe not the motor itself, but it could be tuneing or hardware around the SCR or NOx filter, etc..

I agree.
There was a discussion in another uk related thread, where somebody found the German ADAC link listing the promised months when each model should be compliant.
It still lists the X3 30d for August. Maybe something with certifications completed, or manufacturing containing all bits and pieces, including SW, to achieve the goals.

https://www.adac.de/infotestrat/umwe...sourcepageid=0

But again, let's see how it goes.

Yes, saw that as well. So if you would be in Germany and you car is delivered in August, it should be certified so I guess the current productions are already compliant, that could also clarify all the delays others experienced around May/June

If it confirms to WLTP it will be Eu6tmp, I'm sure I seen that 30D has complied for a few months now

The WLTP is a European standard although not fully up and running until 1st September 2019

At the moment existing models need to comply to WLTP tests from 1st September 2018 but emissions and economy can then be converted back to the old NEDC system which seems a bit weird

When Alpina announces the G01 based XD3 they 1st showed the WLTP test results which were 31.8mpg and co2 of 238 but since have changed back to the NEDC system and now show 44mpg and co2 of 173 :

I was about to say it, WLTP is worldwide, and i was told by my friend who works at BMW France HQ that all the recent diesels are Euro6d-TEMP compliant so don't worry about that
