Mirror questions please

My auto dimming mirror is very dark in daytime driving. Is there a settng or adjustment or could mine be defective? Is the view dark out the back due to the dark tint on the glass??

Is there a way to lock the vehicle and not have the side mirrors fold in?

It shouldn't become dark during daytime.
It could be defective.

If it is not, you can code it off or unplug it.
Not sure if it will throw error if you unplug it.

In Vehicle Settings or something like that you can choose to fold or not fold the mirrors when you lock it.

I mean, with the hatch up, its bright as heck in the daylight. With hatch down though, its very dark in daylight hours. Thank you both. I'll look into this.

Dimming area is visible If you take a closer look. It doesn't go all the way to the edges - leaves a gap all around. If this is not what you see during the day, that the mirror is not dimming, so it's probably working ok. If you have put tint on your windows, it might have some impact. Although you will be the first one, since people here are putting tint on their vehicles and no one reported this yet.

I honestly think it's just the factory tint on the rear windows that's throwing me - it's pretty dark. Yes, my front side windows are tinted too but not as dark - probably 30% on the sides.
