Man I ordered an M40i on Dec 10 2021 and still have no production spot here in Austin, TX. On Jan 26, my salesman told me I was #2 in the queue for an allocation spot.

Is this normal?

I have no idea…..tbh I’m more concerned that I won’t have apple CarPlay!
There is no CarPlay at the moment - it will apparently be installed via Remote Update Service (i.e. online/over the air).

This is the situation with my X3 that I collected two weeks ago (and was built in early January).

The touch/writing functionality for the iDrive controller and touchscreen are present and working, though!

That’s a test of your resolve.
Might be regional demand. I live in Richmond, VA and got one of the last slots my dealer had for Spartanburg, as their now sending orders to South Africa.
I submitted my order 1/24 and got a build slot for week 10. They only had 6 to offer.

Hope you get good news soon.

That’s good to hear as I’m tracking the vessel and it’s next port of call is Vigo in Spain on the 15th March, so hopefully after that it’s Southampton then my dealership.

Hey! How long has it taken for your car to make it from Southampton to the dealership?

Mine is planned to land at Southampton on Friday evening. Trying to figure how much longer my wait is.

If it’s the same vessel, the FREEDOM ACE then see the below link. Note, sometimes there is a delay to the ship tracking.

average retrofitting time

So my ordered car x3 30e was produced on 14 January with the RAM and PMA control unit missing. Some at BMW claim the car is still in Spartanburg, others claim it is in Bremershaven waiting for the missing pieces to be installed. So no clarity and transparency from our BMW friends. Who of you is or was in the same situation recently and how long did the retrofit process take?

Well I've had some more positive news on my X4 order. The RAM module has been fitted and its on its way to Cuxhaven for shipments to the UK.

The recall website is now showing the RAM fitted issue as closed off too. So fingers crossed now.

No ETA yet but it's progress.

Similar issue in terms of different folks at BMW telling me different things. The outstanding RAM technical enhancement was completed 24/2 and recall info now shows no actions.

The dealer tells me the car arrived in Uk before this date, but Genius claims car is not in UK, and there is no status update since 14/12/21, despite having previously provided different update codes since 14/12 ?????

I got a follow-up email from BMW UK after emailing the CEO about the appalling level of communication and lack of information consistency. Needless to say, my reply wasn't a happy one.

Good news for you. Your car was produced when and where?

Has that only just appeared or was it there from day one ?

This may provide the defect code for the Technical Enhancement if it isn't shown on the BMW recall page.

I assume that's not a "Stop Sale" situation?

Retro fit at a later date via remote or dealer, if that's what you mean by 'sale stop'

on the other thread, your screen cap show RAM defect code, which is a sales top.
