Not sure about 2020, but for 2022 you can buy it online with bmw connected drive. It's instantly available. It's $300 on LCI cars.

Not available for 2020, unfortunately. Pretty annoying if you ask me.

The only one of which I am aware is https://www.eurostart.com/product/brs7 as you mentioned.

I'm curious if this is a DIY-possible install?

I too would like a remote start and it is super annoying that it was not available on 2020.

Ok I just ordered remote start plus drone app and yes they require spare key (another 350$)
I think if everything arrives in middle on this week, Friday maybe Monday will be installed
One good thing they said everything is just plug and play, not required cutting etc

Let us know how it goes. I read elsewhere that you have to restart the car when you get in, but that isn't a big deal. I'll probably get one on my X3MC soon.

That is my understanding as well. Apparently it is a limitation of the handoff from the key wired to the remote start vs. the key in your pocket. It kills the engine as soon as you open the door.

I guess it's better than no remote start but I find this annoying at this price point. If it were $500 and I could install myself I would go for it.

I wonder if the OEM remote start on the 2022s do this?

That's annoying. No way I'm letting the remote install chop shops around me put their meat hooks on my X3M!

Let us know if you find another way to source it...hopefully at a discount

It does not. The engine stays on.

Glad they got that right. Too bad BMW was 20 years behind on this as I would have loved to have an OEM remote start on my 2020.

Just keep in mind if you install something like this and have any issue that can be even remotely traced back to electrical in nature with the car, this system will be blamed by the dealer.

I spoke with 2 bmw dealers and this eurostart certified installer that's not make any issues with warranty but in real life it's always your fault

Nice, glad to hear it worked out. Do you have to restart it when you get in the car?
