I'm in the same situation now. Two regional rep approvals are in and now I just have to make an appt with a collision shop to get the repair done (my local dealer doesn't have a paint and body shop).

I got screwed in Seattle, the rep said my paint issue is "pitting" and is caused by external influence. Fxxk THE PNW BMW NA Rep! He's a piece of shit. I got 3 authorized body shops telling me its bad prepping. I even have an email from another rep in the NE saying its a defect. Customer relations at least got someone to come take a look at it and but they still denied my shit. The guy from customer relations told me to try another dealer in another region, so I will have to take care of this when I bring the car back to the East coast. Don't own a BMW in the PNW while this rep is still alive. Debating if I should try it in Vancouver, Canada while the car is still there.

Sorry to read about your painful experience. I had paint peel on my Donington Gray MY2021 X3MC and had Brian Jessel BMW take care of it here in Burnaby, BC. They used Collision One for the repair and they did an excellent job.

If you are indeed entertaining the option of crossing the border for this, drop me a DM and I can give you the Service Advisor's name. Good luck.

The car is brand new and I picked it up 4 days ago. The paint appears to be bubbling up/peeling/missing on the rear diffuser on the passenger side.

This is pretty disappointing.
Wow holy shit! I need to go check mine now...

Yeah dude I hope you don't have any issues but we were probably right next to each other on the assembly line.

My rear diffuser also has a ton of orange peel, so if you have that as well, odds are it may be a similar outlook.

Dude I am so sorry to hear this! Hopefully they make it right for you... I just checked mine and it seems OK, for now at least...

Whew! Glad you don't have a problem with this.

I haven't had any pushback regarding the repair and the ball is in my court to make an appt with the collision center. So I'm glad its at least going smoothly there.

2022 X3 30D in Brooklyn Grey Metallic owner here, my rear bumper paint started peeling about a month after taking delivery. The car was manufactured in November 2022 in South Africa, and I got the car a few weeks later.

The car is currently at an approved repair shop where the bumper is being resprayed and I hope they've done a good job...

The dealership was very apologetic and loaned me a brand new 320i LCI while my car is at the panel shop, but still - I'm really shocked that this happened.

See attached pics.

I got a 2020 recently and noticed the roof spoiler issue. Just took it to the dealer, they took photos and will submit to bmw to see if it is a coverable defect.

Same thing happened on mine. The regional rep was there and just happened had other x3ms with the same issue. I was cleared to get it repainted under warranty however I ended up replacing it with the m perf spoiler.

I assume you did this out of pocket? I've been tempted to visit the dealer for the peeling issue, but I think ultimately a new spoiler is my preferred solution.

I have this same issue on my 2020. It's not a paint defect. That top "painted piece" was quickly & uncarefully shoved onto the black part way too fast during the assembly line. So that paint was scraped off like a cheese grater.

I had worked out a deal where they would have installed it for free. But I ended up getting it (M Perf Spoiler) installed with some other mods at my preferred Indy shop.

Joining the paint peeling club. 2022 X4MC Sao Paulo Yellow and the PPF installer noticed paint peeling on both sides under the stoplights. Considering that PPF has been installed I don’t think it is worth it to bring it up to the SA, but I just hope that the PPF wouldn’t have to be removed in the next few years as I am more than certain that it would rip that paint off.
