Hi moff looks lovely. Re the lights - have my lightning and ENET adapter arriving soon. Hopefully get car Friday.

Re the lighting are those colours available without coding? I appreciate you can't split them but just wondering. Thx

No - the additional colours are only available by coding.

Just an FYI, Pirelli had a $70 rebate in December (I think it ended 12/15).

They allow post mark by 1/14 (no online submission I can find).

I totally forgot about it so I will send it snail mail with return receipt this week so they can’t claim it wasn’t received.
Unfortunately I didn't buy the wheels and tires until 1/21, so missed the rebate. I like the silver wheels more now than when I bought them and will be reluctant to put originals back on come summer. In my opinion, silver wheels on a blue car are the way to go. It appears that someone at Ferrari agrees.

Fender Vents

I decided to go full shadow line on my X3M. Swapped the chrome fender vents for gloss black Chinese replicas (Fanauto) today. Overall quality is good except perhaps for the XM3 logo. They fit perfectly and it is not a difficult job. If anyone is interested, it is also very easy to open up the vents. There is a blanking piece that just unclips (see pics). I did not remove it from my vents as there does not appear to be any air entry points into the fenders and I don't know enough about aerodynamics to risk creating them.

And it can't be done through bimmercode expert correct?

You don't even need to be in expert mode - just go to the proper ECU and change the bronze color settings.

Steps documented here https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=17 and in the coding thread.

Wheel Locks

Did anyone get the lug bolt locks described in the owner's manual (p. 309)? My X3M came with regular wheel bolts so I bought a set of McGuard locks. The key fits neatly in what I assume is storage for the factory lug bolt adapter (see 2nd pic).

Nice. Got a link for the part number? I want to get locks for my winter wheels and OEM summers.

I looked at the McGuard reviews on Amazon and several people said the key broke.

In doing some research, it seems like RAD are a preferred brand (over OEM even).

I like that they have the pattern on the inside walls of the key. I read they have a black piece that will cover them but I have yet to confirm that.

Need to find the part number but this is what they look like:

Wheel Hanger

Quite a few years since I last owned BMW's (2000, E46 328CI @ Z3). Had forgotten the difficulty bolts add to wheel changing compared with studs. An $8 wheel hanger purchased from Amazon makes things much easier.

That’s a great idea!

I have to say though, changing the ~65 lbs where/tires on my X3m vs the ~98 lbs wheels/tires on my truck was so much nicer.

Hi there's some detail steps at the beginning of this thread.

In a nutshell.

I used ENET adapter with a cheap lightning to Ethernet adapter and purchased the full bimmercode.

Had a few issues connecting to start with but putting the iPhone in airplane mode helped. Also pressing the start button three times rapidly helped.

as long as you don't use expert mode it's so easy, here to body domain controller and the first two options are to change the default bronze colours. One you hit code in a few seconds it will reset Ecu and do the work

I like it has a backup option so might reset before service etc.
