Since the lease on my 2014 335 GT is up, and I want something with more capacity, I would probably be looking at a GLC or a Q5.

Really? - have you seen the NA sales numbers for the past month? Year? - they don't sell as well as BMW had hoped. The company needs to adjust its strategy or else it will go bye bye. Crossovers = mediocrity. Thats what BMW is specializing in lately.

I think that the X3's number for October are an anomaly people are waiting on the G01 model which has had only a few pre-launch sales. 80% of production in Spartanburg is for customer ordered vehicles not dealer stock. They may have pushed out a bit of June production but from switch over in July to production in August with an apparent hold on shipments through September and part of October this is a long dry period and could go far to explain a 67% year over year drop in sales.

X5 and X6 are in very high demand in other markets to the point that allocation is an issue. Dealers are being encouraged to take steps to ensure that those models are not being bought for export. One dealer was insisting that non-finance deals have a token loan attached so that a lien could be placed on the vehicle to dissuade export.

I am more concerned about BMW's 3 and 4 series numbers. I admit that I like the technology in the F30 line, but the finishes are not luxury finishes. If I were in the market for another small sedan or coupe I would be looking at the C-class. My E92 M3 is far more luxurious than any current F30.

I think that BMW has got the message, the G01 has a better feel than its predecessor.

November numbers are going to be very interesting.

Yep, even Consumer Reports says that the X1 lacks the "refinement" one expects in a BMW. I like the size, but the interior noise is a deal breaker for me. Hope the LCI improves this issue.

I had an x1 in 2014 and 2016. I actually really liked my 2016. I traded a 3 series for it. It was quieter than my 3 series on the freeway and in my opinion had a nicer finished interior. It was a great vehicle. I will say the suspension was not as refined as my new x3 but overall it was a great vehicle.

Thought this will fit here. X5 F15 and X3 G01 side by side.

I agree - Headlight fail and raised inlets with higher ground clearance make the G01 look less sporty...

I really can't get myself to like the ugly face of the new X3 and in this pic it really shows how disproportional the grills are to the rest of the front.
It has the same size headlights as the smaller X1 but has bigger grills than the larger X5 in the background.
X3 = Headlight fail when compared to X1, X2.

It's not... too bad the B58 isnt available in the X1 (what a beast THAT would be!)

I like the face of the X1 and X2 better, but BMW DID get the rest of the X3 right.

Exactly! the BMW e-series began in 1968 and continued through 2016 in some models (48 year run!)
The F series started in 2008 and may continue until the end of the current model runs of the (X1, X2 and M2)... possibly 2020? So only a 12 year run for the F series?

None of them!

Although I prefer the front end (especially the headlights and lower, bigger air inlets) of the LCI F25, the G01 scores big wins with its awesome B58 engine, interior, technology and updated taillights..

Well it’s a good job we don’t all like the same thing otherwise planet earth would be a very dull place. Whatever you like someone else might not, and vice-versa. Some might hate my car - I really don’t care. What intelligent person buys a car because he/she thinks that others will like it?

It’s only a car!

I am so glad you are not a designer @ BMW

Because the lights on the new X3 reminds me a lot of the 1 series head lights. It would match better for some reason in my mind.

The X1 LCI is happening in 2019, if they fix road noise, bad seats and give idrive 7 it will be the bargain German car.

For the novice (me) to this site, would someone be kind enough to enlighten me on what LCI means? Limited Cosmetic Improvement is all I could come up with on my own, deducing from the contexts in which I've seen it used...

It stands for Life Cycle Impulse of all things but I think your meaning is closer to what happens

I would also add blind spot monitoring.

It’s the strangest omission of a feature in a long time but bmw did some crazy stuff on the f48. When I got mine the rumor was they would add blindspot monitoring in the next year model but they never did. And now the new x2 is missing the feature as well. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they didn’t fit the equipment or the feature.

I dumped my 18 mo old F82 for the new X3, and a 30i at that. I do miss the curbside appeal of the M4. But it's on its way out and the X3 is a good interim ride until I decide what suits me better in a few years.

If you ask me, the 'old' round halos look so dated, so do the fog lights in the bumper.
