M40iG01 How's the fix been holding up? I assume ok since we haven't heard in a few days?

I hope it's holding and you're back enjoying the vehicle.

Can someone describe this vibration. Every steering wheel I have ever had has minor vibrations in the wheel at all speeds and roads.

There seems to be two vibrations. One at speed and one all the time. I would thinks these are two different issues.

M40ig01 described it as a very obvious and violent shaking - several posts back in this thread

Then the OP and M40iG01 have two different issues. OP seems to be talking about wheel vibrations that aren't violent.

let me help. My vibration that has been resolved was identical to having your hands on a vibrator aka the steering wheel lol. Sorry best way to describe it. (and a high powered one). only happened between 80 to 100km/h. Did get aggressive again above 100km/h

I also feel slight constant vibration while idle and driving. Also feel this in my X1 35i from 2014.

I imagine its normal. Certain road conditions seems to make it more obvious then others.

Mine I wouldn’t call “violent,” but definitely too strong to be anywhere remotely close to normal. It’s only felt under light load on the accelerator between 50-60mph. I keep my steering wheel vibration setting on high, and the vibration feels just like that.

Both shop foreman and one of BMWs engineers said it’s not normal.

Like some others said. BMW acknowledge that it’s a problem, but don’t know what or how to fix it. 15 more days and I’ll send the lemon law form in.

Oh wow. No this is not as strong as the steering wheel vibration for lane assist.

There is just vibration always in the wheel. Think its 100% normal. There seems to be people in here with varying issues. Yours seems most similar to the M40iG01's issue. I was trying to respond to the OP.

These forums sometimes cause more harm then good. Easy to convince yourself you have an issue reading some of the posts.

I can tell everyone that it seems to me in my x3m40i there is far more feeling or feedback from the road than I was ever used to. I came from an audi and I didnt feel any vibrations through the steering wheel. The bad vibration I had is definitely fixed but there are still vibrations when the engine is cold and at certain times when driving. I would have to say that some have to do with the suspension (being a sport suspension )and other are clearly characteristics of a BMW that I will have to get used too.

vibrations and steering wheels

For the past few years many people have complained that BMW electronic steering was very numb compared to the older versions-ie.the ability to FEEL the road.- when BMW was working on this new version they made changes to give the steering more feeling-my old 2014 x3 35i m-sport was very dead in the feel dept.-But the vibrations I feel when applying the gas in my 2018 m40i has nothing to do with the steering -it is all drivetrain related-the steering is where the problem is allowing us to feel the issue-A kind of harmonic feedback I call it-the comparison to a vibrator is a good one-for me, the more you ask the car to do speed up,climb a hill or turn the greater the vibration or the feedback

I would agree with you 100%. I do ask my self if this is truly what I should expect from a vehicle worth 75k.....
I struggle with this being a normality but I might as well get over it!
