Sat Nav on start up
Good morning (UK)
My 2018 30d has started asking to start a new route everytime I start the engine. I assume this is a simple option to cancel but I cannot find it anywhere. Can someone help me out? Also is anyone having difficulty setting up gmail with the car. It will not accept the settings on connected drive website many thanks in advance |

Asking to start a route upon startup can be a function of the BMW Connected app sending a route/destination to your car. Once, I couldn't get the car to stop asking me whether I wanted to start a route sent thru Connected until I actually accepted the route in the car. Once I did that, the message went away upon startup. I don't know whether your situation may be the same.

My Exchange (work) emails? Yes, those worked. I'm using IDv6 and just made sure the email & text settings in idrive were checked off. Works on my current device (Pixel 3XL) and on my previous device, SG8+. I believe the devices had to support the MAP protocol? Can't recall now if that's the correct protocol. In any case, if the device didn't support a certain protocol, then no mail. But I definitely could never make it work for gmail traffic.

For the Navi, check your BMW connected app under the "More" tab and then go into settings and check if the "Auto Start Navigation" option is turned on.

Thank you. Could you be specific about the iD settings that you're referring to?

Here's the pic. From idrive, select Notifications. Hope that helps. If you're using iPhone, not sure if it'll work since I don't believe Apple use that protocol I was referring to.

The "Auto Start" in my settings is turned on, but the Nav system doesn't ask me to start a route each time I start the car. Maybe he has a different issue.
