Question I think my HK radio sounds "meh": Share your settings

Maybe I just need to adjust the settings. Is there some setup that needs done to make it sound better? It's ok, but it's not very special right now. I've tweaked fade, bass and treble a bit.

I'm not sure what type of music you mainly listen to. I have mine set for a good balance between rock, metal, country and old school hip-hop. I spent about an hour tweaking the EQ settings. I started by bumping the bass +3 and the treble +1. I then created a "v" shape with the frequency bands in the Eq.
I think my setup is ok for 30% volume but it's amazing for 65% volume. I'm impressed with HK.

So you did the bass and trebel bump, then went into the EQ and dropped the mid range in a v shape trim?

I basically did the same (settings) and completely agree with this… lower volume sounds adequate…. But if you get to about 45-60% volume, the HK really sounds very good (better than Bose that was in my Macan)… I listen to mainly various rock, some EDM, occasional country & light jazz.

It's actually very clear and fairly crisp in its mids and highs; with just enough bass to keep my middle-aged ears happy. I didn't care for the system very much for the first 3-4 months; but now, I think it's more than adequate for my needs. It's just not super loud… but I don't need that anymore whatsoever.

Try this and adjust lowest bass setting for your preference.

I was underwhelmed with the HK at first too…
My logic7 in my e90 I thought was better… however…

After playing with the EQ it’s a new sound system.
I used the video posted above, along with some forum posts and other YouTube videos.
Sound is subjective so one person’s settings my not be to your liking which is why I looked for different options.
Ultimately I found settings I like… my eq looks like a “U” curve kind of

Also increase treble and base slightly - too much bass is bad and will drown out the system, I’m like +2 or 3 on each.
Some fade to rear… I am +1 faded to rear, some say it can be more immersive, others disagree and fade toward the front.

I leave logic on as I think it sounds better with it activated.

I love the HK system now!
