Timeanddate.com weather for Medford NJ (6 miles N of Atco Dragway) on 18 Apr 2021 ~130PM: 60deg, 42%hum, 29.85"Hg. So DA calculates to +356ft.

That's impressive to see a 10 sec quarter using pump gas - great work.

Is that an OTS BM3 tune or have you optimised the map with a tuner?

With appreciation to Imran@Evolve for providing 1/4 mile data (via Dragy) for his 2021 G80 M3 Comp at Santa Pod Raceway [ https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1838141 ]. I compiled his pure stock numbers from the first 5 runs (before the beta Eventuri intakes were installed) and placed next to the top 8 of our Stock X3MC category.

Results as predicted but interesting to see actual data showing how 'Cd x A' (and weight) can influence interval times in vehicles with otherwise similar engines. Suspect the AWD may run in the 11.3xx range?

Edit 6 Jul 2021 – I appreciate Imran’s PM discussions in which he shared formal drag slip data for his 5 stock runs, the actual DA, his octane rating and his tire psi (OEM standard rec). This has improved the analysis so I’ve replaced the preliminary spreadsheet with this final version.

Would be interesting to also add formal slips from a stock X5MC as suspect it should be very close to these ETs. A rather unique collection of vehicle styles and sizes to run such similar fast times.

Updating the F97 thread to include forza1976's top 4 runs in his new G80 M3Cx along with Imran's top 4 and those from stock X3MC.

Will be interesting to see formal times from stock LCI F97/98 given the reported torque increase and the reports of enhanced low acceleration from many of us who have received ours.

First Dragy Results with LC

Just turned 3,000 miles in my 2021 X3MC and did my first and only Launch Control launch. Captured it on Dragy so I thought I would share.

0-60 was 3.73
3/4 tank of 93 octane fuel
I have pano roof and a spare tire
Conti tires
I weigh 205 lbs

Looks to be right in line with what one would expect.

I plan to get a few more miles on the clock and then will install the Racechip I picked up from Ben. Will also do a before/after dyno on that just to have the information and will post that as well along with updated Dragy.

Hey Max! We briefly chatted over PM's about track times and I figured it's easier to post up the results here.

First time taking the X3M to the track and it was an absolute blast. I've gone faster in my S4 but something about running 10s in a big SUV is a crazy feeling haha. Especially feeling the car lose traction and actually having to drive the thing through the 1/4 mile lol.

Here are the results-

2020 X3M Competition
BM3 Stage 1 E30 OTS
21" BC Forged wheels
Michelin PS4S 265/40 & 295/35

Spare tire removed
All runs were roughly 1/2 - 3/4 tank of fuel.
Tire pressures roughly around 37F & 36R.

It was very chilly by the end of the night which is why times got slower. I was having trouble getting off the line efficiently and got a lot of wheel hop in spin. First run was absolutely the best.

Dragy for DA purposes:

We have a new St1 Leader

Thanks for sharing your runs, BrockDM and for providing such clear documentation. It made it easy to prepare your personal results spreadsheet, and allowed me to update the St1 and Overall Leaderboard sheets as well.

And I enjoyed your video - thanks for posting that as well!

For those checking in on the 1/4 mile thread - we still need data on SNC (stock non-comp X3M/X4M models) and St2M+ categories, so if you can share some formal slips you'll be guaranteed a spot on the Leaderboard at least for now.

Anyone have 0-150mph times for the X3M?

Also, what is the truest 0-60mph time for a stock x3m? I've seen a wide variance from 3.3 to 4.1. Need to know since it's usually the first question people ask.

I haven’t seen good data on the base F97 X3M you’re asking about, and we’re still waiting on formal slips from Forum Members for that model.

If you meant X3MC (since that’s in your garage) - in Nov 2019 C/D tested the pre-LCI X3MC and got 3.3s for 0-60mph with the 1 ft roll-out and 21.4s for 0-150mph (details at - caranddriver.com/reviews/a28038639/2020-bmw-x3-m-drive/). A number of us have confirmed that 0-60mph with Dragy at the Strip, with a time of 3.6s without the roll-out. [Info on C&D's Rollout method can be found on their site (written by Dave VanderWerp on 5 Dec 2019, /features/a30085446/acceleration-testing-procedure-change-rollout/)]

If someone asks, just mention which method you’re quoting (I usually provide both when questioned, but TBH, not many understand the 1ft roll-out and will give you a confused look and ask what’s the difference).

@BrockDM

Your X3 M looks awesome & those are some stellar 10.XX runs. I had no idea our SUV's were beefy enough to handle some wheel hop at the track without breaking anything. Make me like this beast even more.

@Max Well - We appreciate all you do & thank you for starting this thread.

@BrockDM - Please post more photos & details about your engine bay cooling method at the track. Do you have any special mounts for those electric blowers... ?

Are Dragy numbers accepted on this page? I’ve got some pretty good data so far based on an timed event 1/2 mile race I ran in October that Dragy backs up pretty well… and also have several 1/8th mile, 1/4 mile, 0-60 and 60-130 numbers too. I’ll upload if anyone is interested in seeing.

Absolutely accepted - feel free to share anything and everything to do with the performance and acceleration of the F97/98 lines.

The only difference is that for formal slips from a sanctioned Strip I take the time to enter all of that data into the spreadsheets for the Leaderboards but not for Dragy or other methods. Either way we all still enjoy seeing the data.

No, I’m currently on an OTS E-30 map. I’m trying to upload a couple different dragy screen shots, but it won’t seem to let me.

Stock it ran a best 0-60 3.7 seconds with no 1’ rollout and 11.77 1/4 mile and right at 142 mph in the 1/2 mile.

I have dragy numbers for those tunes as well if you’d like to see those… that is IF I can figure out how to post them.

If you have a laptop or PC, images load quickly via the 'manage attachments' radio button beneath your typing region with the Smilies off to the right-hand side. Once you click on that you see the multiple lines for images with a 'Browse' radio tab. If you click on that, just go to the image file location on your respective system and click on it, and it will populate that space. Just repeat that for as many images as you wish, and when finished, click on the 'Upload' radio tab.

I usually try to keep the file size 1200 x 900 for routine images such as in this thread, but if it is a picture-laden site where folks want to enjoy seeing the images, then 1600 x 1200 can be used for those types of presentations.

Looking forward to seeing your data.
