Hello, newbie here. Followed all instructions (i think) but get error when attempting "SVT Actual - Read (VCM)":

Caused by: java.lang.Exception: ============================================
ECUId:VCM_0x10
job failed with job failed with negative response error:
code: service returned global negative response
description: Service RC_RLE_VCM returned a negative response with response code requestOutOfRange; LinkName: VCM_ETHERNET severity: ERROR

Verified connectivity by pinging the IP of the car from PC.

Any ideas?

2021 X3, G01
E-sys: 3.40.1
PsdZData_Lite_v4.36.12
Target: S15A_22_07_521_V_004_001_000
(Also tried with the other S15A target, same result.)

Use Read (ECU), not Read (VCM).

Thanks for this. Psdzdata was up to date and it had I-step-15a-22-x included. Initially had an error connecting on esys with the new istep, which was fixed by the esysx support guys. Basically using esys 3.3x now instead of 3.27. I have had purchased from them a while back .

When coding, realised that cafd weren't yet trimmed or anything and was able to edit successfully within esys. Out of curiosity do you know from what version it's trimmed?

BMW made changes to PSdZData beginning with 54.2 where they removed (aka Trimmed) descriptive text from CAFD (and FAFP) files, making FDL Coding of many ECU's impossible using regular PSdZData files. Yours is trimmed, but mapped by ESysX.

Hi Shawn,

Newbie here. I have a 2013 F25 (5/12 production) and swapped out the CIC to a NBT EVO. Everything works after changing the ZGW Mid to ZGW-4SK. Missing function such as gyro information, no memory for XM radio stations, speaker/amplifier makes this ticking sound. However, my biggest problem I cannot get the car smogged (emissions tested). Have you had any experience with these issues and would coding help remedy this?

I have not posted enough so my PM function is still disabled.

Any thoughts/assistance is appreciated.

Newby here. I am about to replace our EDC struts with Koni's I need to know what to unplug and how to code out the EDC. I have the cable & have installed E-sys & Bimmer Utility.

I would appreciate anyone who could point me in the right direction.

Nothing Iv'e done, but I think to code out EDC:

Edit FA and remove 2VA, 229, and 223, and use modified FA to Code DSC, HU_CIC / HU_NBT, KOMBI, and ICM.

Newby here. I'm having trouble getting a connection through E-Sys. Are the directions at the beginning of this thread correct for using E-Sys 3.38+ w/BimmerUtility?

My laptop says it's connected to unknown network with no internet. Then I open E-Sys and click the connect button and get this error:

Connection check failed.
Gateway/ECUs are not correctly connected or not responding.
However Functions using the ODX-Data can be used. [G188]

Is car Motor running?
Are you using correct Connection Target (No _DIRECT suffix)
Are you using Connect via VIN not Gateway URL?

No 3rd party firewall, turned off all Windows firewalls (local, public, etc.)

No 3rd party AV, Windows AV turned off.

Ignition is on but car is not running.

Connected to my car (F025), no _DIRECT, but there are two F025's. I think I tried both.

Vehicle-Specific Parameter. "Series, I-Step" should be left blank, and try running motor.

PC Lan Adapter should get a fallback IP address of 169.254.xxx.xxx (Make sure it is using DHCP and does not have a Static IP address assigned to it)

Some PC's do not allow LAN Connection if WLAN is connected is enabled. You should also try disabling your WLAN Adapter, so that only LAN Adapter is enabled.

Now, are there written instructions for using BimmerUtility with E-Sys? I see the instructions at the beginning of this thread but that seems to be for using E-Sys directly. Also some of the steps in those directions don't correlate directly with what I'm seeing in E-Sys. I'm assuming they were written for an earlier version.

No, you can check the Videos on the BimmerUtility website.
