Boot 12v socket question

UK based and just bought a 2018 x3 m sport. Can anyone tell me if the socket in the boot is constant live or switched with the ignition. Looking to use it for my dashcam but don’t want to flatten the battery by accident!

Seriously!?!? Why don't you test it yourself, after all you have the car. Go out to your garage or driveway and check it out.

It's only 12 volts so you might want to wet your finger first

I've plugged in a tire compressor w/o turning on the ignition, but found it does lose its power w/o the ignition after ~5 mins or thereabouts

EDIT: consider investing in a Mirror Tap solution...inexpensive

Switched, but would recommend you hardwire with a fuse tap and buy a Cellink NEO to protect the battery and use Dashcam in parking mode. PM me if you need a reference to a great vendor.

I hardwired my front Viofo camera, but using 12V trunk socket for back Garmin dash cam. Socket is switched, but like many other things, switches off 7 minutes after ignition is turned off. In other words, after you turn off the engine, exit your car and lock the doors, expect camera to keep recording for up to 7 additional minutes.
