This makes absolutely no sense at all

I use Liqui Moly 5W-30 special tec. Never had an issue in my 2010 x3 3.0si

Just curious how are you liking LiquiMoly? I know they've provided to a few local BMW places near me but I've never filled my car with it. Do you think it's any better or worse?

This man is 100% correct. Liqui Moly or another high-quality brand such as Pennzoil works fine. As long as it is 5w-30 you won't have any issues. Personally, I prefer to stick with Genuine 'Original BMW Engine Oil' when I can, as it performs the best IMHO.

Hello, guys. I still use for my car this BMW 83-21-2-365-950 Twin power Turbo Ll-01 Fe. Good for my Boomer.
I found this one here - https://carnesmechanical.com/engine-oil-for-bmw/
