Anyone ever have their order ready before the current lease was over?
I custom ordered an X3 M40i and its currently waiting for carrier assignment from factory to PA. From the looks of it, the car would probably reach the dealership before the end of the month. My current lease is not a BMW and ends 2/3/21. My cars are only weekend cars for me since I take public transportation to work. And my wife already fully owns a Rav4 that she drives to work.
What are the potential options the dealership might give me? Do they hold the car for a month until I am ready to pickup Or perhaps my offer an incentive for me to return my current car early? Another option is that my wife can just drive my current leased car for about a month to get the benefit out of it. Thanks! |

I would ask your wife to drive your leased vehicle for a couple of months and save some mileage on the RAV4...

I once had a new lease arrive with about 2 months left on my then-current lease and the dealer took the car and paid me the remaining payments. However, it was also a BMW that was going out too. Unless they agreed to buy out the remainder of the lease, I would do as was suggested - use it and save the mileage on the RAV4.

I'm trying to avoid the same scenario. My current X3 lease expires mid-February and I'm about to order another one to replace it. My dealer suggested ordering in the next week and said if it arrives early they'll store it for me for a few weeks. I'm trying to time the order so the new X3 arrives as close as possible to my lease end date. I'm curious when you ordered your X3 and how long the dealer said it would take from order date to delivery.

Order was submitted into the system on Oct 12 and it was at my dealer Nov 9. Actually a day or two earlier, but I was able to pick it up on the 9th (but I picked it up on the 11th).
OP said that the car is waiting carrier assignment so I am going to guess that the car will be at their dealer next week. |

As long as your current lease is in fact a BMW, they will apply the "drive ahead" program. So if your in the last 3-4 months of your lease and ordered a new BMW that you will lease, they will always put you in the new car when it's delivered! If they haven't offered there's something "off" regarding the lease terms...
