Hey crew, so I finally got the chance to mount these on the car!

This is exactly the look I was going for. I wanted something meaty and wide.

Specs:

Front: 19x9.5 ET33 with 285/40
Rear: 19x9.5 ET33 with 285/40

I only drove on these for about 20 miles so no reviews yet, but they definitely feel better than the 20 inch that I had. Don't mind the missing center caps, looking for some full black BMW caps. Also fender flare is off because I took off the bumper to installed some intercooler protecting mesh, still haven't put them back on.

Excuse the pictures and poor edit, messed with the lighting so you guys can see the wheels clearer.

I'll try to get some pics in day time, I tied it up to the lower plastic air dam.

I have 245-45-19 in front, and to keep it into the same diameter, I need to go 275-40-19 or 315-35-19.

Since 315 are almost impossible to find and very very very expensive, Ill put 275 or change all 4 to get 285 in the back.

do you have a ass shot to see how wide are the tires?

Looks awesome OP. I always worry about really good/wide tires sticking TOO well on an SUV in a fairly quick turn. Keep us posted on feel/turn issues. I almost rolled my Land Cruiser once because I was thinking I was in my GC.......lifted the drivers side inside wheels on a lefthander..scared the crap out of me lol.

Okay so for initial reviews, the car handles a lot better, the front grip is amazing and the understeer is reduced greatly. The highway speed stability is light years better. My tires are Michelin's so the sidewall is a bit harsher especially on bumpy roads, but totally worth the handling upgrade. Also because the front tires are 285, the steering feels better but it's also a bit twitchier more like hydraulic steering.

Overall I'm very happy with this set up!

Drawback is more weight..=longer stopping distances. Do you feel any difference with the bigger meat/more weight? (Not that an X3 is any lightweight in itself)..

I wouldn't say its more weight, my original OEM wheels were 27 lbs and tire weight of 31 lbs, which is 58 lbs total. I do not feel any added weight, the steering does feel heavier because of the width of the tire especially when turning, but that is what I wanted.

Previous 20 inch set-up:
Front- 245/40-20 (27lbs) + 20x9 Stance SC8 (29lbs) = 56 lbs
Rear- 275/35-20 (31lbs) + 20x10.5 Stance SC8 (34lbs) = 65 lbs

Newest set-up:
Front- 285/40-19 (31lbs) + 19x9.5 VMR (26lbs) = 57 lbs
Rear- 285/40-19 (31lbs) + 19x9.5 VMR (26lbs) = 57 lbs

Loving your set up man, thanks for sharing! Looking into getting a similar tire/wheel set up myself for my '11 X3 35i. Any rubbing/fitment issues especially up front?

Thanks! No real issues, sometimes there is a slight rub on the passenger side when I full lock the wheels to left only when backing up though its due to the oil cooler fins on the fender liner, I bet I could trim them 10mm and be set. The ride is better, the handling is better, gas mileage is same. The only other thing I'm worried about is replacing a tire if I need to because the size 285/40 is rare and expensive.
